Define "best".

Pains me to say it but the answer may be Joe Burrow. Not that I don't like Joe Burrow, it was the team he played for .

So many angles to this. I am a no despite being able to say he was the greatest one to watch (bias acknowledged).

For me, no natty no GOAT. One could argue the youngest Heismen ever angle makes up for the no natty but I think it still falls short. I have a hard time settling on a GOAT in general.

JFF is absolutely in the discussion, however.

Most entertaining for sure, and possibly top 10, but not the best.

Nope, didn't win it all. Intangibles matter too... though I think he's in the top 10 for sure.

No. I dont think so.

Tim Tebow
Vince
Tommy Frazier
Cam Newtown
Matr Leinart
Joe burrow
Ken dorsey
Charlie ward

Those are off the top of my head

Johnny is an all time great but I dont think you can put him at the top of the list

Yes.

So sad that he didn't pan out.

He established us in the SEC and gave us national recognition. / Heisman. / $$$$$$$$$$$$$+

Still no statue.

I think that's the rung where Johnny resides, except maybe Winston who won a championship

based upon his size...Johnny belongs ahead of Tebow, Cam, and VY

those guys were bigger than the linebackers they played against

they could do things with just brute force size and strength

JF was a much better QB

National Greats: Joe Burrow and Vince Young and Winston all won natties because they had a defense.

Aggie Greats: Bucky and Kevin and Corey - none of them can hang.

Without a defense, I saw him beat a top 10 team.

I saw him run circles around the top defense in the NCAA.

When watching the Duke Chick Fillet Bowl, I saw Duke score a touchdown EVERYTIME they touched the ball in the first half and because of Manziel Duke still lost.

Sorry haters, Johnny was the GOAT.

Who else has ever seen a 3rd and over 20 for a first and be excited because you know he's going to find a way to get it...? No one else. Price he paid was his soul, but he appears at times to be trying to get it back.

Yes. He's Johnny F. Football. Joe corn dog Burrow is runner-up. Peyton hound dog Manning is third.

Cam Newton is his friend dawg.

Roger Staubach.

He was Johnny before Johnny.

Would've won 2 Heismans had he not been injured his senior year.

But I'd say it's those 2

Side note: Staubach also lettered in all 3 major men's sports during his 4 years at Navy. Scouts said he was good enough to go pro in all 3.

After Bo Jackson, Roger may have been the best college athlete ever

As far as being the most difficult to shut down, electric on every play, clutch, record breaking numbers for only 2 years of college, and simply being who I would most want to pay to see play again- Its JFF!
That dude played playground ball and made SEC defenders look pedestrian. I don't know if he is the GOAT but I'd rather see him play in his "Prime" over any other QB

Not the "greatest" (which is a dumb argument as football is so incredibly dependent on the other 10 guys on the field with you) but certainly in the top tier.

At the time, he was a revelation and did a lot to upend traditional QB "norms". He was also the second college player to become a real cultural phenom in the 21st century after Tebow.

He was good, arguably the best at A&M, but not in all of college football history.
