FWIW that is a Knoxville news article. Until the numbers actually come out well see who's considered the flagship program for Adidas.

Don't fold like a tu rd in a churn when it matters most.

This is adidas winning back a program they were with before and lost. Shocking a Knoxville article would say adidas is going to make UT their flagship program.

Win % and trophies don't matter in these deals, butts in seats, alumni base and overall fan base matter much more. If, IF, UTs deal is more $$ than aTm's current deal that just raises the minimum bar for the next aTm deal, as aTm has probably twice the brand value of UTenn. due to demographics, overall fan base, disposable income of fan base, etc., etc.

I had always pictured Tennessee in Adidas gear, mostly because since I came into "sports consciousness" in the early 90's, and that's what they seemed to always wear. This doesn't bother me. We made adidas cool from 2012 to 2013, and then didn't do a damn thing after that. Our best uniforms we've worn since the switch from Nike to Adidas were the 1998 throwbacks, which were based on a Nike uniform. At this point, put it out to bid, who actually is willing to go the extra mile for us? Under Armour? Puma? New Balance? (hint: no one cares about us because we don't win anything worth noting.) A&M athletics has been so mismanaged for so long it will take some monumental paradigm shift to get on top. And even then, a national championship would be super hollow in the age where semi pro thug hired guns win something.

Adidas has always had a caste system. I'd assume that UT is just joining A&M, UW, etc. in getting the best treatment as the most popular schools in bed with the brand.

This is correct. Tennessee is a flagship Adidas brand, alongside A&M and a few other schools. Nothing to see here.

Speaking of Adidas, Miss St. just unveiled their "dark mode" uniforms for this year. Looks like Adidas copy/pasted ours from last year. Only difference is that they removed the dots from the numbers and add a stripe or two to the sleeves.
