I bet it's sinking in how big a difference it is playing a game without the 12th Man….
Weigman finished the day with 159 yards passing and 3 TDs against Stephen F Austin….winning 27-0….

Still impressive, though, to stick around the league for that long. Even as a backup.

Weigman looked pretty good at times. Lost weight from when he was here, and showed some wheels. It's too bad for him that Houston's OL is so atrocious.

Yeah, Kyle Allen took what was pretty ****ty treatment from the A&M coaching staff and turned into a meaningful NFL career. He has nothing but my respect.

I don't even know why this poster feels the need to **** on Kyle Allen. He doesn't owe us anything.

Why you be like that... the kid had a good game. Maybe he's playing at the right level now. I'm glad he played well last night. In addition to his 3 passing TD's, he also had a nice 27 yard run. And FWIW, Cougar High stadium is actually pretty nice for a commuter school. I've been there a couple times.

My point is that it wasn't what he did at UH that led to him playing in the NFL since he only played in 3 games.

In hindsight, if he had stayed at A&M, he would've played more. But Sumlin messed it up and created a hostile environment that made two 5* QBs to transfer.

Conner Weigman attempted just 24 passes because Houston ran the ball 46 times against FCS SF Austin. Conner Weigman's performance against Big 12 competition will indicate a lot about his aspiration to make it to the NFL. His first Big 12 game will be a home game against Colorado on 9/12.

I think Weigman has a shot to play at the next level and I still don't understand at all what happened to him at A& M. I don't feel like his injury was mismanaged . Seemed more mental to me. Not saying he was a head case . That's not what I mean. Sometimes you just get a mental block that you can't pull out of in a specific environment and the coaches just didn't have the latitude or flexibility to let him work thru it which is also understandable. Less intense environment may be what he needs to develop and grow .

Pretty significant difference between A & M and Houston football. The intensity and pressure to win are dialed down significantly at UH and the attendance is a key indicator. It just isn't as important to most of their alums as it is to our former students.

8 years in the NFL as a QB is a damn good career. Very little wear and tear as well.

1. He's still playing in the NFL. My gut tells me you are not.
2. His salary is $1.27MM. What a scrub
3. While he has primarily been a backup, he's also been a starter at times and has shown he can play in the league.

I honestly don't understand the hate so many have for Allen. He got absolutely screwed here by Sumlin and still has spent 8 years playing in the NFL.

Some people perform better without pressure. Weigman finds that at UH. The SEC isn't for everybody and sometimes that comes with a harsh reminder. I hope he fares well at Houston, feel no ill will toward the kid. He just wasn't cut out for SEC competition.

He threw for over 1k more yards than Bucky in just 26 games to 46, despite splitting time with Kyler for 21 of those games.
