Feel free to share your own.

The defensive front 7, as expected, is not good enough. They got gashed by these scrubs all night.

The pass defense is not fixed.

The offensive line is mediocre in run blocking

Reed is better but still very inaccurate downfield.

At least we have two good receivers for the first time in years.

I'm feeling pretty good about my 7-5 final record prediction after this game.

Summary.

QB: Reed wasn't great but overall pretty solid. Missed a wide open TD but redeemed himself.

WR: HUGE upgrade from last year

RBs: underwhelming

Offense overall: B

Front Seven: underwhelming. Especially against the run.

DBs: better than last year which isn't saying much.

Overall Defense: C

Special Teams: A

Overall:B+

Glad we have 2 tune up games before ND, we would've gotten throttled today by a ranked team.

Not sure any of it matters though, everything I saw out there screamed of our standard 8-4 season. Lateral passes and quick screens work against lesser talent, without a run game those are going to get eaten alive by SEC teams

Our pass D gave up only 121 yards to their starting QB, in an offense that is pretty good passing. And we didn't give up a passing TD until 14 seconds were left in the game, our backups vs their backup QB.

I don't think that's shabby. They were 11th in the nation in pass offense last year and 12th in total offense.

Highlights were the two Portal additions.

Lowlight was the run Defense. Not sure how that gets fixed, and if the talent is there. We would have gotten it handed to us tonight by a good SEC team.

I thought ratcliffe played well

Reed seems to have improved mechanics which is promising, decision making still slow, accuracy still not great

Bryce & York are liabilities, they need to be replaced asap

Dline & oline are both meh

The 2 new wideouts are gamers



Just good enough to get to 8-4

The major issue is the lack of physicality from the OL and DL. We need to control the line of scrimmage on both sides. Until we do, we're gonna struggle.

Reed looked great. Seems like we forced the work on him during the game to ensure he gets more reps. The 2 deep pass attempts were not good.

I'm concerned about the running game only in the sense that we didn't see it much. Hopefully we see more next week.

New wr's are what we hoped they were.

Defensive backfield was strong. Front line major question mark. Typical Elko defense (even during his DC days) where they randomly look lost in the 1st half. After the major run to begin 3q looked good.

Tackling looked pathetic. Elko publicly said he's the DC this off season and he has to feel like **** with the overall effort tonight.

Klein wants to and will balance the offense. I expect us to be run heavy vs Utah St and then balanced vs ND

Based on what we saw today, how many wins can y'all see in the 7 game stretch between Auburn and South Carolina? Maybe Miss. St at home?

We'll most likely already have lost to Notre Dame and be 2-1 going into this gauntlet.

I don't get why Reed threw that long ball as hard as he could. He just reached back and flung it. Good grief, just throw off his back foot like he always had and it is a TD.
He is marginally better at throwing deep.

The rest of his short and medium throws were very good.

Eh who knows. Maybe UTSA turns out to be a really good G5 team this year. Maybe we have some improvement week-to-week. Maybe it was just a first game jitters type of dud. I'm not going to jump off a cliff and say we barely make a bowl game yet.

I do know that I didn't see a 10-win team out there.

Uhhh…I don't think those are really the same

Two powerhouse conference opponents is a much different situation. Had we given up that kind of rushing production to a UGA or even a tu RB, that wouldn't be great but I can understand it. We had this happen against UTSA.

That last TD by them was BS. I hope we scoreboard the s out of them the next time around.

Honest assessments, passing game is much improved. Nice to have receivers who can get open.

Oline was incredibly underwhelming in the running game. I don't know how you don't threaten benching someone based off the result.

Dline and LBs are underperforming so far. Cannot give 200 yards rushing, and that's with 9 TFLs! Significant improvement will be needed for us to have a chance against ND. I'm sure TA Live will bury us 1st to 2nd game improve BS, which feels like wishful thinking currently.

Special teams was only "good" group tonight.

Coachingwise, I'm a bit concerned that Elko didn't have this team a bit more mentally prepared for tonight and hated the start to the 2nd half. I WANT TO believe in Elko, but crap like giving up a 75 yard TD to start the 2nd half is inexcusable. I want a coach lighting up the players a$$es with the fear of God of giving up another yard to start the 2nd half. Still too early to tell, but not a good start.

Based off what i saw today in the SEC, the conference is wide open, but we're no where near to take advantage of it currently.

They didn't need to throw - they were gashing us with their running game til mid-3rd quarter when our talent advantage and depth finally wore them down.
