We all agree the headgear pick is sacred to Saturday mornings. It will hurt to have someone else do it, but I don't think they will let it retire with Lee corso.

I think they choose Pat, he is more bombastic like corso. Albeit less charming today. But I bet he will age well. Seems to be the kind of person who thrives on honors and responsibility.

Could they pick no one? Have they already announced this? Let me know

im kinda starting to think Des Howard is the right choice.. he's funny and likable, and has the college football pedigree.

Corso's gift was that he knew they were really in the entertainment business so he wanted to make it fun. Game day has already pivoted to Pat Mcafee being the entertainment.

If u look at the energy of the crowd and the reaction to the pick for the venue, it all culminates in that pick, and it gives them a finale… if they don't do something, it'll feel flat. But, who knows, maybe that's the way they go

In L.A. back in 2000 (give or take. Might have been '99 or early '01…but I digress). He couldn't have been more genuine, down to earth, and just plain nice.
Dude catches a lot of crap but for a brief window in the late 70's and 80's that dude was a star and definitely has become a piece of late 20th century Americana.

Nobody will do that for at least a few years. It was Corso's deal and you cant just replace him automatically

I don't think Spurrier has the patience to put up with the dog and pony show. Then again, I would have said the exact same thing about Saban, so who knows?

I think that this is likely, but also likely not to happen for a few years.

Someone will pull out a hat as a surprise on a big game. I would bet it to be an Ohio State pick as a nod to Lee.

If I could bet, it would be the first big game that occurred with Ohio State after Lee passes on, and it will be an Ohio State pick and dedicated to Lee's memory. That is about as tasteful as you can get.

Then, check the pulse of the zeitgeist and make a longer term decision, which I anticipate to be not to continue it.
