what is your adjusted win total?

I'm bullish on a Saturday win as I think this will be Elko's A&M version of Duke v Clemson in '23. Not poopslap confident but almost.

By big I mean 2tds

It depends a lot on how the game goes We still don't really know how good Notre Dame is. If we beat them by two touchdowns is it because we are really good, or they are just a mess?

However, if we are entertaining the notion that we can, say, increase our power rating around a touchdown, then the answer is that we are probably favored in every game we play the rest of the year (or close to it), and likely end up 10-2 or 11-1. The whole SEC is such a bunched up mess right now that anybody who shows they are a step above current projections is probably in the driver's seat (at least, the top 11-12 teams or so).

The flip side is if we show that we are actually a touchdown worse in power ratings from where we are at now, we're going to be favored in 2-3 games for the rest of the year, and probably struggle to reach a bowl game. Unless/until things change, there really isn't as much between a 10-2 SEC team and 5-7 SEC team as you might think this year.

At this point, I just want to win by 1.

Goal post will be moved but chicken littles will still say 8-4.

Too early for me to revise my 9-3. I want to see a few more games before adjusting even if we win big.

We don't have to win big. We just need to win.

If we win we can go 6-2 in the SEC and make the playoff. If we lose, 7-1.

10-2 SEC team will be a lock for the playoff.

We won't win big. I don't know why some are holding on to this line of thinking.

Can we win big? Of course!!! But it is highly unlikely. We could get a special teams TD, a scoop and score, or pick 6 that skews the score. But ask yourself, what have you seen defensively that makes you think we can stop the run consistently? What have you seen that makes you think we can move the move the ball consistently on offense? The key to game hinges totally on LOS play. We win the LOS, we win the game. We lose the LOS, we lose the game.

But to the OP's original question. 8-4
I know nothing!

we will win big but since I predicted 17-0 I will only be able to adjust it to 18-0

if Aggies win by 14+ then 10-2

if Aggies win by 1 then 9-3

if Aggies lose by 6+ then 8-4

If we win it means ND is not good. 7-5.
If we lose it means ND is better than us. 6-6.

I love your optimism. I think in order for us to win by 2 scores, the defense has to show some dramatic improvement against a the best team we have played to date.
If we win I have us at 9-3 as our ceiling and if we lose we could go 7-5.

It'll be just like the Bama win a few years ago

Pumpers will spend the weekend declaring us national champions and act like we've finally turned the corner and their faith has been rewarded

Then we'll do what we always and lose some inexplicable and inexcusable games and still end up 8-4 in the Who Cares Bowl

Because they can't destroy your Hope until they tease you with a little first

It depends on which A&M comes to play. The ever lurking A&M culture will always raise its ugly head eventually.

8-4 is a safe bet, regardless of what happens on Saturday. If we win one we should lose, it will be accompanied by a loss that should have been a win

It proves my point. Pumpers acted like it was a turning point victory while refusing to look at the big picture of mediocrity

It's just a non conference game on the road. Doesn't impact our chances to win the SEC or make the postseason. While I think we win 31-10; even if that happens we will somehow be a ranked below 0-2 ND and 2-1 tu. The only way to change this is to win the SEC home games and 2 of the road games.

And why wouldn't we have been excited? If not for Max Johnson's miracle td we finish 9-3. We had tons of momentum. #1 class, Jimbo painting a rosy picture.

Who knew that Elko leaving would have such an impact and that Jimbo was about to mail it in?

What does that have to do with now? If Moss hadn't gotten hurt and we beat auburn and texas and made it to the cfp, would it have been acceptable to pump sunshine then? We were close to that…

Actually feeling good about 9 wins is never cynical for a program that hasn't won a conference championship in any of the current players lifetimes.

Wake me when we have a win over a top-fifteen SEC opponent on the road, and then maybe I'll start to believe. (We haven't done that since the SCe game of 2014, and that season went downhill in the end as well.)

--and the last time we beat a ranked-higher-than-fifteenth non-conference opponent on the road outside a bowl? Had to put the AI to work on finding that one, but it was Penn State '79. So, basically, never (over 45 years)

Win big, my prediction is 8-4.

Lose big, my prediction is 8-4.

My prediction won't change until we win the 9th game or lose the 5th.

If we won the national championship it would just be a down year for the entire NCAA.
