Been waiting all day for this to release! And even better than I expected!

Nicely done.

Monaco is awful. He gets excited on literally every play. He needs to control his inflection and only get riled up on actual big plays. A 4-yd. run up the middle is not something to get on the edge of your seat about and pretend that it's a huge play.

I thought just the opposite. a very drab play by play guy. the final drive sounded like a 2nd quarter drive in a 24-0 game.

I really enjoyed watching that. This team is showing buy-in.

Monaco…there is just something off about his voice inflections that drives me nuts. His inflections are out of rhythm and its very annoying. There are sooooo many great college football team game announcers out there that, IMHO, are better. He is good with details. I just don't like his voice very much.

Drives like that need to be narrated by John Facenda. Unfortunately he's no longer with us.

Yet infinitely better than any AI crap.

I agree, and the reason why I thought the episode was a complete letdown. I can watch highlights on youtube. I wanted to see more behind the scenes footage about the buildup and trip to Notre Dame.

I typically like Monaco, but I wasn't here for the Dave South days. I agree with your sentiment though. I think the problem is that announcers are trying to make "memorable" calls to be attached with memorable plays. Big shot in the NBA Finals will go down in history, and you could be a part of that if you make a good call to go with it. Announcers are incentivized to call every play like it's Jordan's game winner in Utah just in case it could go viral.

Agree. Would have liked to see more non game footage, but I understand why they did it this way.

That was good, but they foreshadowed the chair and never went back to it.

Andrew Monaco is one of the absolute best in the business and TAMU us VERY lucky to have him. He was at the highest levels in the NBA for a loooong time and knows every aspect of sporst broadcasting like the back of his hand.

His play-by-play is spot on and consistent, and color true but not annoying.

Compare him to others in the college game and you'll see the difference right away.

He was EXTREMELY annoying. Over emphasis to try and make a memorable call on every play.

I'm done with the play by play guy. I don't need someone to tell me what my eyes already saw. The last good one was probably Al Michaels.

The new trend of the color guy (quarterback) giving extreme insights and background information into the game is nice. (Brady/Romo). In other words, tell me something I don't know....

People complaining about Monaco must not listen to many other radio guys. I sometimes drive back to WF on gameday, so I get to listen to a lot of college football play by play, and let me tell you, there are a bunch of bad radio guys out there.

Monaco is top notch. We are lucky to have him.

disagree. The only thing this Pulse episode didn't have that it normally has is some boring off-the-topic story about a few guys on our team. This one actually focused on everything surrounding the game, and not some irrelevant story about where so&so is from or whatever boring stuff they normally have. I wouldn't mind more behind-the-scenes before or after the game, but I appreciated the focus being on the game and not practice.

They've got 23 minutes. I suspect that they had their usual behind the scenes stories ready to go, but decided to save those for next week in order to focus on game highlights.
