The 3rd and 1 pass was a fireable offense. Marcel is average. He shouldn't be allowed to make play calls w/out supervision

The refs were definitely out for blood after what happened in Norman last week; however, we shot ourselves plenty enough in the foot

Up by 10 in 4th qtr dominating the game, have the best running back in the SEC and 3rd & 1. Easy chance to milk the game away. I think I will call a pass play.

Play call would be fine if the QB was a higher percentage thrower. Soooo, yeah it was dumb given the situation.

Defending that call shows cluelessness about football and the flow of that game. Their offense had no 4th qtr yards at that point. You hand the ball to moss and WORST CASE you go up 16-3 with 5 mins in the game. I get a lot of things have to go wrong for that to end up in basically a pick 6. Ironically your post actually shows that you don't know football. Auburn stacked the box expecting the Moss run up the middle so we played the numbers game and we t outside to pick up one yard.

You might remember that last year we weren't exactly effective on 3rd and 4th and 1 to go.

I also happen to remember that this board loved to lambast the predictable play calling of running Moss up the middle in these situations.

If Reed makes a good throw, Bussey probably gets the first down and we go on to win this game 20-3 and no one on this board is as upset as they are right now.

We dominated the crap out of Auburn today, so just enjoy the win and hopefully we'll clean up a few areas of improvement so when we play a stronger opponent we don't leave so many points out there.

In and of itself, the play call was fine. In channeling Jimbo, "just gotta execute" - which they did not on the play. The snap was not great, resulting in a not great pass, and we know what came next. Now had I been calling the play, I likely would have just handed it off to Moss or whoever we had in the backfield, but as far as the play that was called goes, it was a high percentage play that just was not run well.
