Yes. Also surprised that Morrow got carries over Smith.
nevermind....just saw that he got 3 carries.

EJ is a hustler but that's about it. I don't expect to see him much except for maybe against Samford.

Yes. And doing a good job of it.
Amari Daniels getting minimal carries is a testament to our RB depth. He is a very good rb. I noticed in ND game at crunch time he was in the game. Coaches trust him in picking up blitzes imo.
Uhh.. He whiffed hard on a block that caused Reed to bootleg around and run towards the MSST sideline, throwing the ball at Craver's feet on third down. Pretty sure that's why they took him out.
I missed that. I didn't say he's perfect tho. I just know at crunch time vs ND has was the back in the game .

To be fair. The brief time we saw him this year, I thought he looked better than last year.
A few thoughts:
1) It's a long season (hopefully 16 games). Need to balance the workload, keep everyone engaged, give meaningful SEC snaps to young players, etc.
2) Morrow is more explosive than Daniels & Smith. Those guys can contribute, but you know what you have with them and Morrow just offers more.
3) Daniels & Smith are gone after this year (R-SR & Grad). Moss is RB1 & likely gone as well. Need to both groom Owens & Morrow for next year and keep them from wanting to transfer.
Elko, Klein & Taylor have done a great job managing the RB situation.

He had 12 carries against Auburn and did very little. I think the coaches are realizing to win in the SEC, he needs little carries. With Morrow having a good showing, I think they are going to be moving on from Amari.

Probably not. Owens is just better. Daniels plays hard, but there's nothing special about him.
True but when you're being competing with Moss and Owens…..
Daniels doesn't have great contact balance and tends to go down at initial contact. He plays hard, is fairly quick, but really needs a big hole to run through. In this league, you need to be able to break tackles.
We are deep at RB. Easily our best position group. Moss is clearly #1, and Owens has established himself as #2. Morrow is playing so well that it makes sense to find ways to get him into the game as well. Daniels is good, but there's only so many snaps on offense.
I assumed he didnt get many snaps because of something along the lines of just not having a good week of practice? 100% assumption on my part.

Working in rushing plays with our super talented WRs and TEs (LOVED IT. We actually utilized our talent. Man I still despise Jimbo for mismanaging our players), as well as having Ruben Owens and LeVeon getting carries, and Marcel Reed QB runs (in games we do them). It gets busy. I think it's a week to week game plan and availability (health) thing. Amari had some big runs against Auburn.
Daniels just isn't very good. I think he holds the record actually for most amount of 0 or 1 yard runs.
I like his attitude and willingness and loyalty a lot. But as far as ability to run the ball he's not very good.
