It's damn near impossible to run the table. We'll be due for a come back to earth L eventually, even if it's to a lesser team, which is starting to look like most other teams at this point.

So who's it gonna be? I'd have to guess is corndog. Even though we are the better team, playing at night at their place with a desperate HC and refs in their pockets, it'll likely time for us to lose the turnover battle and drop one we could've won.

Ideally we beat one of either tiger 1 or tiger 2, but it ain't gonna be easy with the loss of Moss. Beat both tigers (and pig of course), then we'll be looking unstoppable.

But first things first, we'll need to BTHO pig who will be playing their Super Bowl this weekend.

We certainly look capable, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'm just trying to soften the blow should it happen since so many are unhinged around these parts.

Hard to predict because I haven't see the schedule for 2039 yet.

LSU and/or Mizzou (more likely Mizzou)

fair enough. We were 7-1 last year through week 8 which is crazy to think about...

I think it'll be to the corndogs unfortunately. I love this team and I know they are special, but this game will be our toughest.

- Death Valley at nighttime
- No Moss
- One of the best defenses in the country
- you said it, everyone will drop one at some point

But then I remember Brian Kelly and big games don't exactly match. He can't stop a running QB still. LSU's offense is the worst it's been in a long time. Dude doesn't scare me as a coach

Right now I'm seeing LSU at -5.5 against us, so that's my guess.

Well... It's possible.

But what's the percentage of college football teams that have an undefeated season every year?

Less than 1%?

The odds tell us we will lose at least one game, and probably 2.

I hate to say it, but I think the first loss will be at LSU because we will be road underdogs for several reasons.

1. Even if we beat Arkansas, winning back-to-back SEC road games is rare. It had only been done 8 times in 78 such occurrences over the last decade, and 3 times in 38 occurrences between 2019 and 2023. Those three teams were 2019 LSU, 2022 Georgia, and 2023 Alabama; in other words, two national champions and a top-4 team.

https://gigemgazette.com/texas-a-m-football-fans-should-be-furious-about-the-schedule-the-sec-just-handed-them

2. We are 0-6 in Baton Rouge since joining the SEC, with 5 of those 6 losses decided by 12+ points.

3. Brian Kelly is 23-2 in home games, including 13-2 (12-2 SEC) in home games against Power 4 teams. His only two home losses were a 40-13 loss to Tennessee on 10/8/22 and a 42-13 loss to Alabama on 11/9/24.

I'm not sure where a loss will come. We'll probably drop one or two just based on how hard it is to run the table. I don't think we will drop any games because we just aren't as talented as the other team or don't have the coaching to compete. If/when we lose it will be because we came out slow, or had some really bad bounces, or had some injuries. You just can't predict those things.

Logical fallacy. We're already 6-0.

The question is what are the odds of winning the last 6 games of the season.

If we are losing because of a fix, Texas, we go into Austin 11-0 and they beat us to get into CFP as a 9-3 team because beating us means "they belong"

If I was writing a narrative for ratings.... Also means they make it to 8-3 though

A better question would be. Who is left on our schedule that has the same or more talent?

If it's Lsu then you would have whiffed yet again with all of your 6-6 predictions. At least you'll finally get to celebrate a loss though.

i am more worried about mizzou than LSU. i think they are better more complete team. i think e find a way to win in BR this year but mizzou is not going to be easy.

LSU.

But there isn't a small chance a desperate Arkansas does something crazy.

I agree that the road game LSU will be our toughest game this season. This is the second half of back-to-back road games, and winning back-to-back games on the road in the SEC is the rarest of all birds. Before 2024, it had only been done 8 times in 78 such occurrences over the last decade, and 3 times in 38 occurrences over the last five years (the same disclaimer applies here as in the linked article: this tally does not include trips to Nashville or games separated by a bye week).

If we had a home game this Saturday before our road game at LSU, I would like the chance of winning at LSU more.

LSU, Mizzou, t.u. (at least, on paper).

Arky and Mizzou both have higher ranked offenses. Mizzou has a higher ranked D too. But Arky D is turrible.
LSU D is about the same as ours. Their O is sputtering.

You bunch of slack jawed flaggots. We don't lose until the national championship game. We lose by a missed fg due to a holding penalty that pushed us back to a 56 yd attempt. The call was very suspect.

This exactly. LSU's defense is stout but their offense is abysmal. It might be an ugly game, but Ags should be able to handle them. Missouri is a close match and they are the end of the away-game streak.

I will go with that, though specify that it will NOT be in this year's playoffs - as we WILL run the table all the way to our defeat of Ohio State in the Championship game.

That's why I am putting so much emphasis on the Arkansas game. It is about that time of year when we typically falter and it's an SEC road game against a desperate opponent that has lost games by the skin of their teeth. IF we are to lose in Fayetteville, it may cause an all-too-familiar slide that has us wondering why were ever worried about Elko leaving a month earlier.

A loss in Fayetteville would remind me of our loss at Auburn last year. Auburn finished 5-7 (2-6 SEC), including 2-7 against Power 4 teams, and we were the only Power 4 team to lose at Jordan Hare Stadium. Even 6-7 (2-6 ACC) Cal, 7-6 (3-5 SEC) Arkansas, 6-7 (2-6 SEC) Oklahoma, and 7-6 (3-5 SEC) Vanderbilt all managed to win games there. If we had beaten Auburn, we would have secured our first ever SEC Championship Game appearance and faced Texas in a rematch.

However, Arkansas is 1-8 (1-6 SEC) in home games against Power 4 opponents since the beginning of the 2023 season, including 4 consecutive home losses to power 4 opponents by 10+ points each. The only exception was a 19-14 upset of Tennessee on 10/5/24.

2023:
38-31 loss to 5-7 (2-7 Big 12) BYU
7-3 loss to 5-7 (1-7 SEC) Mississippi State
48-10 loss to 6-7 (3-5 SEC) Auburn
48-14 loss to 10-3 (5-3 SEC) Missouri

2024:
19-14 win over 10-3 (6-2 SEC) Tennessee
34-10 loss to 9-4 (5-3 SEC) LSU
63-31 loss to 10-3 (5-3 SEC) Ole Miss
20-10 loss to 13-3 (7-1 SEC) Texas

2025
56-13 loss to 4-2 Notre Dame

If that trend holds up, we should beat Arkansas by double digits.
