Basil Jackson. Made one of the most talked about single plays in Aggie history, but nobody knows his name or what that play was.

He was the first to hit Bo and then the Wrecking Crew finished things up in glorious fashion.

I will go with Larry Kelm as one of he guys that would be awesome to have back.

Jaxson Appel on D.

Bucky Richardson on O.

Appel was a standout on a crap team.
Likely wouldnt touch the field on this roster except for special teams.

Y'all aren't having nearly enough fun with this.

Let me introduce you to Hershel "H.E." Burgess.

  • Burgess was starting fullback for the 1927 Aggies that went 8-0-1.
  • The '27 team outscored their opponents 262-32 for the year.
  • On October 15th 1927 they beat an 8-1 Arkansas 40-6
  • Burgess was a dual letterman in both football and track.
  • He has explosive speed evidenced by his track specialties, the quarter mile and 100 yd dash.
With Moss out, we could use another back with some speed and power. Seriously just check out that muscle definition from his track photo, that's straight power!

Or how about Defensive Lineman Gene "Big Woodrow" Wilson?

Captain of the 1919 team that went 10-0 outscoring their opponents 275-0. You read that right, not a single team scored against them. That's in part to Big Woodrow leading the team on the D-Line, crashing down on opposing centers. Seriously, this guy is built like Mark V tank, an appropriate comparison since he took a brief hiatus to serve his country in The Great War before returning to finish his studies in Chemical Engineering. He was a star at "giving the business" to whomever lined up across from him and making them "Like it" (see below).

He was also quite popular amongst the students and a bit of ladies man. Here his as president of the Thanksgiving Hop committee along with his date, Miss Nina McClendon

We had a hybrid Gene Wilson mixed with Coors Light at one point. I think we called him Spencer Nealy

In all seriousness, he was a GIANT of a man for his time. Just looking through the old yearbooks and he dwarfs everyone.

Devon Achane could have been a Heisman winner with the right coaching and team around him.

Achane is the only player I wish I could watch play more games in the Aggie uniform.

#24 FB Chris Alexander 2004-2007. Fullbacks may have fallen out of fashion but that man would destroy defenders and open wide lanes for Javorskie Lane and Mike Goodson out of the backfield. I love the fullback position.

3 pages and this is 1 of only 3 replies that qualify.
Chris was under appreciated and an unselfish player. Great blocker and could run the ball pretty well too.

I doubt many of you had heard of H.E. Burgess, Big Woodrow Wilson, or Boo-hoo Boyd.

Maybe some of you nerds knew of Burgess because he has an endowed chair in the Physics dept.

Ricky Seals Jones or Martellus Bennet in this offense could be interesting with their ability to be inline or flexed tightends... with the creativity of Klien to get into and out of 12 personelle without subbing would be dangerous.

Give me the 1983 12th Man Kickoff team.

"No Experience Required"

Only gave up 13.1 yds per return, which led the entire country.
"Cal (9-3) vs. Texas A&M (9-3). On the list of rare sights in Southern California, a team running the option -- as the Aggies like to do with QB Stephen McGee -- ranks right up there with real breasts and 12 inches of snow." Stewart Mandel CNNSI
