The university should tell them to pound sand, I see schools like Tennessee and Ole Miss feign injuries like it's going of style every week. How do they even know if our player was faking it, cramps do happen and they even charged us a timeout.

Chappell faked an injury to stop the play and that's what we got fined for. It's still ridiculous how we are the only ones getting punished for crap like this. I encourage Snakey to go watch an Ole Piss game

Ok, I remember that. Seems like we already got penalized. Interesting that we got fined too. Is that a new rule this year? A fine is a little harsh. I'm certainly in favor of cracking down on injury faking. Teams faked a lot when JFF played and they tried to slow us down.

If we are getting a $50k penalty, why were we also charged a timeout?

How about getting rid of the 2 minute warning timeout if they don't want to slow down the game. Oh, because they can make more money because of it?

AD should tell the SEC we will pay the fine as soon as tu gets around to identifying and expelling those who threw garbage on the field during Georgia last year or following up with jerking their liquor privileges.

Our player made a mistake in forgetting about the new rules. If this was a consistent occurrence then I can understand the fine, but we were required to take a timeout by the rules anyways.

If it is an integrity issue as they claim, the league called out their officiating for not calling a penalty on OU for their "hideout" play vs. Auburn earlier this year, but no fine was assessed to OU. Just doesn't seem like a consistent application in my eyes. Kirby Smart deceived officials about a timeout signal against Auburn. We have seen numerous teams this year lollygagging on substitutions to force a delay of game. All of those instances should be deemed punishable by a fine if integrity is of utmost importance.

Next year will feature a fundraiser for the SEC front office, where fines will be distributed to schools. Rewarding SEC referees for not calling a hold will be funded from the fines slush fund.

That slush fund could quickly dip into negative numbers!

The should set up some type of accountability for dumb *** refs that have no business officiating at this level.

Obviously not connecting the two directly but if fines fix stuff, get started on the refs.

Do y'all really believe the "prove it" crap you're demanding? Did you not watch the game? Heck...my wife even pointed out in real time he was faking an injury and she knows NOTHING about football. I am of the mindset the punishment should have been much more harsh. The injury faking garbage is completely bush league (yes...even if we are the ones doing it).

I actually wish the punishment for this type of garbage was more harsh and included suspension of the player as well...or at least making the player sit out the rest of the game.

I like Coach Elko a whole lot, but I hope he's throwing a chair at the staffer who was on the sidelines telling our guy to get down.

Don't agree. They certainly didn't seem to care when Auburn did it about three times in our game with them.

Doesn't necessarily mean he's faking. Could mean he was injured but could have got off the field on his own, but was told to get down.

Interesting, is the SEC fined for the performance of their referees? Do they compensate schools for poor performance of their employees that may change the outcome of a game?
