The Big Ten is having this discussion in the context of the "private equity" issue. In order to entice the big dogs to sign up for this deal, the paupers are offering to skew it slightly based on performance.

The lawsuit FSU and Clemson (talk about irony) brought against the ACC was settled in part based upon TV revenue following results.

Of course, revenue following results wouldn't suit the whorns; they want to get credit for viewership, even when a lot of that is folks tuning in to watch them go down.

This is why fairness needs to be a first-class citizen.

In reality there are 3 options:
1) sip stays out of SEC and has a harder time getting natties (weaker SoS, teams don't develop toughness)\
2) sip joins SEC and has an easier time getting natties (same reasons)
3) sip joins B1G and has an easier time getting natties (same reasons)

Sip is trying to create their own option here out of thin air. If you admit them in on uneven footing, there's no purchase to push back against them adding on whatever stipulations they want, years down the road. The story of the SEC has been that of a multitude of programs (Bama, Florida, LSU, Georgia) taking turns at the top. If sip is allowed to rewrite the rules whenever & however they want, the SEC will lose its identity.

But it would require Snakey to show some sack, which we're pretty sure by now he's not capable of doing.

In 23-24, sips made $30M from the Big12 in TV. +$15M from the LHN. $45M total

24-25, first year in the SEC, they only made $27.5M

25-26, estimated to make $52.5M

The SEC is estimating members making $70-80M in 2027's season.

TV viewership gets skewed once you get relegated to espn news due to rain delays etc.

I won't subject anyone to screenshots of their colorful discussion, but it's clear taco meat is suffering and in dire need of feeding their superiority complex.

I skimmed it last week for the last time...some of the gifs I saw made me sick to my stomach, and I mean in the "I'll beat you senseless if I see you near my children, or any children," kindof bad...

Sips didn't get a conference share last year. It was part of the deal to buy out the LHN.

We don't know what the buy out figure was b/c it was not disclosed...

They clearly haven't checked their tv ratings. They are not even in the top 3 in the SEC and would probably not even be in the top 5 if they hadn't played Ohio State in week 1(who is actually a ratings powerhouse WAY more than Texas). Last week their game was the 9th rated game of the week. More people watched Minnesota/Nebraksa than Texas/Kentucky and before the whorns come on here to say BUT BUT that game was on ABC. We were on ESPN…well WAY more viewers watched Louisville/Miami which was also ESPN…so how about trying to at least be above Tennessee in SEC viewership before you think you are everybody's Super Bowl..

Texas continues to act like an arrogant and entitled university, and they destroy everything they touch.

Ha. It is an embarrassment but it' is also a testament to the quintessential sip.

I expect to add my tv to the tu viewer ratings tomorrow (final 2 minutes) so I can enjoy Miss State's win. They pick up my view, gloat more about tv ratings and I get to see them lose. I expect to follow the same routine when they play Vanderbilt.

As tu loses, I'll be ready to tune in and watch the complete broadcast of A&M rolling LSU.
