Did you enjoy your weekend?
Good.
It’s now time to get back to work as the unbeaten Fightin’ Texas Aggies (8-0, 5-0) enter Week 11 ranked No. 3 in the latest Associated Press poll.
Mike Elko & Co. also check in at No. 3 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
And if you’re not poll’d out, don’t forget about Tuesday evening...and we’re not talking about election night as the initial College Football Playoff ranking of 2025 will be released on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.
Of course, what the CFP committee thinks will become TexAgs’ “poll of record” once it drops, but until then, the media members seem to think the idle Aggies are worthy of maintaining their No. 3 ranking for a third consecutive week.
After receiving a first-place vote a week ago, A&M again topped one of the 66 ballots.
There’s also no room to move up as No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana both blitzed their Big Ten “cupcakes” on Saturday. Further, No. 4 Alabama was also idle, and No. 5 Georgia played with its fried Gator in Jacksonville.
That’s not to say the Week 10 slate was boring by any stretch as three of the previous top-10 — Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt and Miami — went down, and the conference races in the ACC, Big 12 and American got more interesting.
But that’s elsewhere.
As Elko would tell you, the Aggies are focused on themselves as they continue preparations for a top-20 showdown in CoMo on Saturday.
A&M continues to pace the nine SEC programs ranked in the AP poll as No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia, No. 7 Ole Miss, No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 13 Texas, No. 15 Vanderbilt, No. 19 Missouri and No. 23 Tennessee.
The Maroon & White begin their four-week stretch run against Mizzou on Nov. 8 at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
