Nobody overrates tu's importance more than Texags.

They've barely won against Kentucky, Mississippi State and now Vanderbilt. Yet they are back at 13 with 2 losses.

Nobody overrates tu more than polls

Who is ranked behind Texas that should be ahead of them?

We barely beat Auburn and Arkansas, and are ranked #3

Where would you rank us?

They aren't getting in with 3 losses. There will be at least 4 SEC teams with fewer losses

It's laughable that some of you think a 9-3 tu would absolutely be ruled out of the playoffs.

A 9-3 tu team would have a win over either Georgia or us, both ranked in the top 5. They might have dropped one to FL, but their other losses would be to top 5 teams. Jumping tu all the way up to #13 after beating an overrated Vandy is just the voters precursor to slipping them into the playoffs if they can beat either us or Georgia.

Hell, a tu team that loses to both Georgia and us is still going to get playoff consideration by some of the playoff committee and plenty of the media.

I can't tell if you're joking or not. A tu team that loses to Georgia and us will have zero consideration for the playoff. They most likely wouldn't be ranked and if they are, they wouldn't be even close to the top 12.

tu has about a 70% chance of getting in at 9-3. They would have beaten either us or uga, so adding a top 5 win.

We have a 99.9% at 10-2. Anyone who thinks otherwise really has no clue what they are talking about.

Agree on our odds at 10-2 but tu's odds are close to 0% at 9-3. They're not in most brackets today with only 2 losses. No 3 loss team is getting in.

Are you unaware of the computer models that give probabilities or you just don't trust any of them? I am not spit balling 70%.

There is a third of the season left to play, there will be loads of teams with 2 and 3 losses at the end. We had a path with 3 losses last year until the last game of the season.

No 3 loss teams have ever made it. Our only path last year was because we could have made the SEC CG with 3 losses (2 in conference) and would have needed to win that game. This season, there will almost certainly not be a team with 2 conference losses who makes the SEC CG. Therefore, one more loss by tu would eliminate them from SEC CG contention.

Please show me a model that says they have a 70% chance to get in at 9-3. They have a 33% chance today at 7-2. If they lose to Georgia that probably goes down to below 15%.

So, they lose to Georgia and then play us at home on prime time with everything to win including a spot in the playoffs while we are already guaranteed a slot.

Any idea what's going to happen? Long suffering Aggies can feel it.

I don't think Texas will make the playoffs win a 9-3 (6-2 SEC) record, but they will still be highly motivated to us our only regular season loss and prevent us from making our first SEC Championship Game appearance.

They currently have texas as 54% chance to make it. Click on them beating Ark then pick them to win one of Ga/A&M. Then pick them to not make the SEC CG which they won't with 2 loses. It gives you about 75% chance.

There are only 2 good conferences and the SEC will most likely get 5 teams. A&M, Ga, Bama, Ole Miss. Who is the 5th? It will be Vandy vs texas vs OU and they hold the tie breaker. The tOSU close loss will not hurt their chances in the committee. I think a texas 3 loss team goes above vandy with 2 losses.

Dude, I didn't say they would get in, but I'd said they'd certainly get consideration and there'd be some media people arguing they should be in. If you don't see the love tu gets from the media then I don't know what to tell you since you clearly haven't been around college football that long.

If your username represents your Class year, I have been around just a touch longer than you.

And I stand by what I wrote. It is laughable to suggest a 4 loss Texas team will get any consideration from the Committee. It does not matter how much of the BOMC you buy into. Its not happening.
Medaggie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
A texas 4 loss team would get consideration if the 4th is in the SEC champ game. In no way are they leaving texas out if the made the SEC CG and was runner up in the league. NO WAY.

The only way I see this happening is if they beat Us&Ga, lose to Ark and all 3 end up with 2 losses thus they owning the tie breaker.

Their path is to win out or lose just one game.

Of all schools to be worried about calls going a certain way.

sip fans are constantly griping on social media that the refs are biased against them, saying they never get calls when their OL is being held, etc.

Yeah, the same goes for everyone else too.

Sip coworker was *****ing about the officials trying to screw Texas to give the game to Vandy. I just had to roll my eyes.

To be fair, the refs absolutely pushed Vandy back in the game on Saturday. It'll get swept away but that was bad.
Weird seeing them on the short end of the stick.

This reads as if you've never experienced the "Eye Test". Pepperidge farms members. If A&M loses two games in any way shape or form of being blown out, the committee will crucify A&M.

A 10-2 A&M team is a lock now that it is a 12 team playoff. This goes for OU, texas.

Theyre so used to be coddled and having the games fixed for them that when they see the refs calling the game appropriately they have a temper tantrum and throw trash on the field.

This, after Cutty Sark says he's gonna log a complaint after the Vandy officiating. Really? t.u. is the most graciated team by SEC refs since joining err. POISONING the SEC. I guess they were not used to seeing many flags at all, and a few made it seem opressive.

Zero offensive holding calls for the entire regular season in 2024 say "hi".
"Green" is the new RED.
