Re these lines, I also thought Bama would be favored by more.

I think Miss St for Georgia may be a classic trap game between rival Florida and t.u. next week,
and with 8.5 points , MSU could be a betting winner.

i think MSST has a very good chance to walk the dawgs, Georgia has already escaped death several times

Dawgs are much better than MissSt. Bama likely is as much better than LSU as we are had to head with LSU. But the line isn't substantiating that and isn't reflecting the coaching change which could leave them unbalanced if the line doesn't shift.

We have every reason to treat Mizzou as a real challenge and the line isn't substantiating actually more kind than I thought it would be. Which means beware…

Even though they beat Arkansas after Arkansas fumbled the ball away, I don't like seeing Memphis in the playoffs...reminds me of SMU and Boise St from last year except Memphis is worse than those two teams.

letting the oddsmakers pick the teams is a bad idea because it does no account for upsets. meaning if indiana upsets ohio state in the big 10 championship, ohio state would still be rated ahead of indiana by bookmakers.

That would make a 2 loss Georgia very angry when the horns come to town being they would be playing for their playoff lives. The beat down would have epic possibilities.

Don't really care about "ifs". I want the best teams in the tourney and Vegas is the only non bias platform out there. You might be right about your scenario, but they'd still both be in…..that's all that matters

I have a feeling this board wouldn't like where Vegas would rank an 8-4 Texas team

I am not surprised that Georgia is an 8.5-point road favorite at Mississippi State because Georgia trailed or tied at halftime in 5 of their 6 SEC games. It's also a true trap game because Georgia is coming off a close win over Florida and could be looking ahead to a night home game against Texas next week.

I had expected Alabama to be favored by more points against an LSU team with an interim coach, but LSU has not lost in Tuscaloosa by more than 14 points since a 38-17 loss in 2013.

The 6.5-point line for our road game at Missouri sounds about right because they have a good defense, especially against the run. Also, Missouri has been dominant at home since the beginning of 2023. Missouri had won 15 consecutive home games, including 10 against Power 4 teams and 8 against SEC teams, before losing to Alabama 27-24 on 10/11. Their previous home loss was a 49-39 loss to LSU on 10/7/23. I hope we can win this road game by double digits, but I won't be surprised if it's close from start to finish.
