It's not unique to us. "Clemsoning" was a term used in the pre-Dabo days. Winning magically fixes a lot of things.

Must've been '99. That was a rough year for the pre-season #5 defending BigXII Champs.

My freshman year was 99. Its been 92% bad or unimpressive seasons for me, so I've had BAS from jump.

that post from 2007 is so money, so on point and topical. Jack Burton, are you still on this site? is he the satoshi nakamoto if the most infamous phrase in the aggiesphere?

It is a phrase that is literally everywhere. TV, YouTube, Radio...

Is this the original post?

The fact that Jack Burton might have coined this phrase is legitimately awesome.

I will forever picture, prior to this post, him spouting this off freestyle on a CB radio on his way home from Houston's Bellaire Chinatown where he just witnessed yet another Dennis Franchione loss.

We were all in big trouble.

The problem was that back then, we just didn't know it yet.

For me? @Clemson 2005.

That was the year their chubby kicker did the promo photoshoot and we made fun of him all offseason.

He kicked 6 FGs that night. Their only offensive points. They returned a punted, and well, there you go.

I was there. It was painful

Same. Was there. Friday night game. Kicker looked 12 yrs old and we made fun of him……them he kicked our a@@

There was a stretch where we beat t.u. 10 out of 11 times from mid 80's to mid 90's. Somehow t.u. gets Mac Brown and they win a title.

In the 90's we beat LSU 5 yrs in a row, and would have been more had LSU not chickened out on us. But they get Saban, who brings them a title, and then Les and Ed O bring them a title.

We ground Bo Jackson in the Cotton Bowl. Years later, Auburn wins a national title.

While all that was going on, Sherrill steps down (forced to?)
RC would win a lot but always lose a bowl game (it seemed)
Fran is a disaster.
Mike Sherman - team always collapsed in the second half
Sumlin: JF great year, but that didn't last long.
Jimbo: closest to winning it all was Orange Bowl vs NCar. Then the decline.

I could go on and on. For me it's always been why do teams we use to throttle taste the victory of a national title? A big part of my BAS

With the exception of Mr. Wallace' 62, I've been suffering BAS longer than just about anybody on here. My dad was class of 1950 and I've followed Aggie football since Bear Bryant hit Aggieland. BAS started for we when we lost to Rice in 1957 and then t.u and Tennessee in the Gator Bowl all by a total of six points, This after being ranked # 1 when we got to Houston. From there, we proceeded to play .500 football for the next thirty years.

Of course, I'm mindful and grateful that from the time General Rudder and his men took the cliffs at Normandy, 'til Jackie got here we went to the Cotton Bowl one time, and that was when I was in school.
The person that is not willing to fight and die, if need be, for his country has no right to life.
