1/ ND is the media darling to all people who loosely follow college football. Yes A&M went to South Bend and beat ND, but that was a fluke and ND has improved while A&M has gotten worse... so no way we beat them again.
2/ When we beat them, on our field, we will have bookends of beating the media darling twice in one season - once at the beginning, once at the end, surprising many people AGAIN about who the Ags are.
3/ Once past ND, we get the best possible matchup for us, Indiana on a neutral field, and the Ags WILL Travel so it will feel like a home game. Indiana is not stout up the middle, doesn't run the ball the same way Texas, or LSU, or Mizzou, or Arkansas did against us. They like to spread things out, throw the ball, get us in space, and we are way, way faster than anyone on defense they have faced. I like this matchup for us a lot.
4/ After quarterfinals, it does not matter, everything else is gravy.
5/ We have a while before these games are played - we should be much healthier, on better fields, and with a better lineup. Moss has been out hurt, and our 2nd/3rd string RB's are a bit dinged up... why we haven't used them as much.
It all comes down to that big ND rematch at home... if that happens. I honestly think that is the best possible chance to get into the finals.
If we get Virginia in the first round, then we face off against Georgia in the 2nd round and no way wants that matchup... those boys are playing TOUGH. So is Ohio State.
Everyone else I'm good with - Oregon, Miami, Virginia, Oklahoma, Ole Miss. I do think Tx Tech is the dark horse - after watching their film, they are JUST as salty as Georgia... and they play downhill with no fear.
