Let's try this again.

We're asking for $35,000 obo.

There was no ill intent in not posting the price, guys.

I am working on adding inside photos. You can also go to our Facebook page and check it out in action.

I'm going to assume this is one of those, "If you have to ask how much you can't afford it" deals. So for that reason, I'm out.

Hi Yall, we can definitley train you on driving it - but a CDL is not needed. Its way more affordable than you think! We are more intersted in having this go to another RedAss Aggie. I also want to be sure I get people who are actually intersted to shoot me a text or call me and I can talk through what it has and provide more pictures, etc.

Put a price or risk Staff locking this thread. They aren't looking to be eBay here.

Not putting a price.

I'm not directing this at the OP, but just making the statement in general.

The only reason to not put a price for an item, and I mean only reason, is because you know your price is too high and you're gonna get blasted for it. To be clear, you have the right to price your item at whatever what feel like, but you also deserve to get blasted for it if it's ridiculous.

As the son of the individual who funded the build of this vehicle back in 2006, I had a front row view of its construction. While I have had absolutely nothing to do with it for over a decade, I know for a fact that it had a LOT of customized and very unique fabrication (relative to that era). If someone chooses to buy it, I strongly recommend professionally inspecting, updating, and certifying every inch of the abundant fabrication to ensure it remains safe for use on public roads (as a condition of purchase).

Oh boy! Definitely reading between the lines there.

Are you saying he is throwing his dad…

…under the bus?

Not throwing anyone under the bus. The issue isn't quality of initial construction. That was A+, in 2006.

Bus 12 was built to be an amazing machine that was the first of it's kind @ TAMU. It played a one of a kind role in a lot of major activities for a good number of years. Like an RV, boat, plane, or any other piece of mobile equipment...Time, use, and the elements subject man-made things to unavoidable and often hard to diagnose maintenance and fatigue-related issues. I'm not saying this with specific knowledge of it's current state (see previous comments), but I'm saying it based on the MANY longevity related conversations that were had back when it was built two decades ago. How do you estimate a functional service life on something that is largely fabricated?

The right person could absolutely bring Bus 12 back to where it was in 2006, and that would be a beautiful thing. My point is that before that thing gets put back into service like it was in its glory days, there are labor-intensive structural & mechanical inspections, updates, and repairs that need to be done by people who know what they're doing (in order to mitigate naturally emerging risk).

That retort wasn't funny.

But I do appreciate the explanation. I think that gives people a better idea of what they are buying.

Sorry...Didn't mean to be a buzz kill!

I love my Dad dearly and I don't want to detract from the justifiable genius of what that thing was back when it was created. He made certain it was done right. From road game yell practices, to Johnny's breakout season, to dozens of ring days, to the Holiday Bowl parade...That thing touched THOUSANDS of peoples lives.

Literally working on it 7 days a week, 12-15 hours a day, for 2.5 straight months (in the summer between undergrad and graduate school), the building of that bus was a part of my life in a way that only one other person could fully understand (my older brother), but he's no longer alive.

Others have fought the good fight to keep it going in the years since, but my aforementioned points remain factual. Would love to see someone restore it to its former glory!

FarmerKeith - I'm guessing you're BL's brother. I just want to say he was a wonderful Ag and y'all are a wonderful family.

I miss his positivity about everything.

What y'all did as a part of Bus 12 was awesome. I wasn't around it a lot but y'all were always so gracious when I was.

I do hope Bus 12 can continue on representing the Fightin' Texas Aggies in some way shape or form.

In 2006, we were headed somewhere in New Mexico or maybe Durango. Stopped in El Paso for the night, stepped out of the car in a shopping center parking lot, and heard the Aggie War Hymn playing from an unseen source. After walking through the lot with my eldest (who became Class of '17), we found Bus 12, stopping on its way to (or from?) the Holiday Bowl. The folks were kind enough to give my daughter and me a tour. Very cool.
Viva Bus 12!

I remember that! We were on our way to the Holiday Bowl, where Bus 12 was right behind the Aggie Band in the Holiday Bowl parade. After that, we took the bus on the naval base in San Diego when a buddy of mine got us tix to tour the USS Bonhomme Richard with the football team.

Great memories!
