~235000 miles and counting- Everyday Driver. Truck started off as farm truck used to haul feed and feed cows on Ranch. We are 3rd owners of truck. It has been used as a daily driver for my daughter for the last ~6 years to drive to school. Has heavy duty replacement bumper and Heavy steel bed with gooseneck ball. Gray cloth Seats/interior.
Work:
1. ~200K miles- Front end was rebuilt with new tie rods, steering gear box, shocks, rotors, hub/bearings/ upper and lower ball joints, sway bar bushings, brakes, and idler arm/pitman arms. New headliner.
2. ~205K New water pump and bosch Fuel control solenoid. New U-joints and carrier bearing on driveshaft
3. ~220K Replaced Injection Control Module ICM
4. ~225K Rebuilt transfer case with upgraded tail shaft housing/New bearings
5. ~230K Replaced internal wiring harness on Allison Transmission- Replaced filters and trans fluid.
Pros- LLY Engine and Allison 1000 trans work flawlessly. No known issues. Truck is very strong and interior is fairly clean for it's age.
Cons- A few dings and dents in truck. Paint (white) is in decent shape. 4x4 is electronic shift. Sometimes it works; sometimes its doesn't. Sometimes when it does go into 4x4, it's hard to get it out of 4 Low. We haven't looked into this due to it being a highway and town truck most of its days. Also, the service brake light comes on from time to time and the ABS light stays on. We think it is related to the ABS sensor or the module. Doesn't affect the braking. No check engine lights.
Looking to downsize to something smaller for my daughter. This truck is a tank on wheels and why I had my daughter driving it for a first vehicle.
The truck is located in College Station daily, but also makes frequent trips to Anderson. Pics on request.
