I'm not sure how that wasn't called a handball. Curious to hear what the explanation is on that call.

The only reason the ball even made it to TAA was that it came off of Bernardo Silva's hand first. The rule this year is that you can't score or set up a goal with an offensive handball, even if inadvertent. Same rule that resulted in Mane's goal against Man U being ruled out.OregonAggie said:

Apparently Sterling and Gomez continued their little flap in England camp today. Led to Sterling getting removed from the squad for their first match of the international break.

Also, can I just say that our best business in the transfer window was NOT selling Lovren to Roma. He's been big the past few matches, especially Sunday.
His slide, then second effort against Sterling was exceptional. That probably would have been a goal based on where Allison was without it
Lovren is a very good defender. He is no VVD, but who is?
I like his attitude. Tough, mean and slightly reckless. It gives our defense a nice aggressive posture..
He could be a liability if he is your defensive organizer, but surrounded by VVD and Fabinho he is free to be instinctual.
It's a great all around group of CBs. Gomez and Matip each have their own special qualities that also make them indispensable.
The outside backs are pretty good too...

Ugh. Lozano dives into the legs of Fabinho and injures his knee in the first 15' then Greisman undercuts VVD and dings him up and they score on the subsequent break. VAR looked at the offside but not the foul as far as I can tell. Down 1-0 at the half.
What a frustrating game. Absolutely pelted their goal the whole second half.
Just hope Fabhino is okay. Given the injury to Matip and the team's increased vulnerability in the back this season, he has been too important to lose for any number of games.
He's out for 6-8 weeks with ankle ligament damage. Sucks as he was really a critical part of our squad and had been playing great.
Also, he got rolled up on by the Napoli player doing something stupid - trying to fall onto the ball to stop play after he thought he'd been fouled.

Opportunity to go 11 points clear today...
Cruising so far. Feels like it's been a while since we had a comfortable win.
Held on for the win, but that was a very weird second half. I don't think I've ever seen a freekick allowed to be taken while the other team is clearly setting up their wall during the stoppage.
What is a clean sheet anyway?
