Yeah, this is what I've observed too. However, most of my personal collection over the last 10+ years has focused on rookie cards of Aggies in their college uniform. Still technically rookie cards since the set is from a pro release. Example:

Sometimes I'll still get cards like this even though it's not technically a rookie card since Sage is a collegiate line.

Those are cool. Its odd that their very first (college) cards don't bring in the higher price.

Oh, I definitely have college cards, especially of Aggies. I believe you should collect what you like. I just meant the value isn't there. Just like /50 gold parallel and the old /10 golds are often valued higher than lower numbered parallels. Collector market decides values. If "investing" be aware of this. If just for you, get what you love (that's what I do).

Absolutely. I really try to keep in mind that everything I buy has potential to be worthless in the future, and that my cards are only worth what someone else is willing to pay (my stupid stepdad was right, lol).
I'll speculate on some stuff occasionally, but I truly do it as a hobby. I've posted some of these before, but I know that non-Aggie collectors don't hold these with the same value I do. As a collector it's been fun b/c most of these really didn't cost that much. And when someone like Von, Evans, or Myles blows up the cards gain value in the general market as well.

Have you considered having those put in a large, slab, or card holder to put on a wall? Like, having 20 slabs on display inside a large frame.

Some kind of display would be cool. Right now they're just in a box. I do have more work to do, as I haven't acquired many of the more recent draftees. My goal is to have a rookie card (football and basketball) of every Aggie who has one. With the modern era of cards, I've expanded that to autographed RCs, if they have one.

Maybe I'll just do a selection of my favorites for the display. Certainly open to ideas!

I think a collection of your favorites would be a nice touch to a room "mancave" or the garage? Having them all done would probably take up and entire wall. Ive considered doing something with my PSA 10s like this

I've used TCDB to store my inventory but it doesn't scan. You have to find the card and check it off
