Was thinking about the 1992 Dream Team and wondered what an "enforcer" version of the Dream Team would look like.

Here's my 12:

PG: Vernon Maxwell, John Stockton
SG: Mark Aguirre, Alvin Robertson
SF: Charles Oakley, Terry Cummings
PF: Anthony Mason, Kevin Willis
C: Bill Laimbeer, Kevin Duckworth

What say y'all?

Replace Cummings with Xavier McDaniel and replace Kevin Willis with Rodman. This team would never make it off the practice court though. Basically the Royal Rumble in basketball form.

Got room for a couple more on the original list…add Rodman and I'd put Gary Payton on, too. John Starks and Bruce Bowen came to mind, too.

Karl Malone could bridge both teams…put him with that crew of enforcers and he wouldn't have to take a back seat to very many of them.

IMO, Rodman wasn't really and enforcer as much as he was an instigator. Also, folks need to look up Cummings before kicking him off the list. Rasheed Wallace has some stories about him.

Malone was a bruiser as well but I left him and Larry Johnson off my squad as they were known more for their skill.

Rick Mahorn should be on there.

This is a great 7-minute clip of how much he disrupted the Lakers in the '89 Finals. LA was so used to being all finesse and style and getting the calls. Mahorn was in the heads of AC Green and Michael Cooper and evntually James Worthy in the first 5 minutes of the first game and had the two of them completely out of sorts for the entire (short) series. Magic got hurt in Game 2 and it was over from there.

Agreed! Totally forgot about Mahorn.
