Andy Hawkins threw a complete game, no-hitter and lost. And the grid doesnt like it because it was only 8 innings. MLB is dumb.

MLB changed the rules of what constitutes a no-hitter or not over 30 years ago. Seems a bit odd to complain about now.

but yet it does count as a "complete game" in the GS/CG categories, correct?

I'm short on time, so not going to google it. But I tend to agree that it should count as a no-hitter.

The ruling is dumb is all Im saying. He threw a no-hitter and it was a complete game. Doesnt have to be any harder than that.

I don't disagree, I also think pitchers who were on the away team of a complete nine inning game should have games recognized as no-nos, but I sorta understand why MLB went this route. Should rain delayed/darkness shortened games be also be considered complete game no-hitters? In other words, where should the cutoff of how much of the game should be pitched in order to be recognized as a no-hitter.

Anyways, in the context of the Immaculate Grid, IMO it is silly to complain that the game uses what MLB considers as a no-hitter even more so since the current standard was set over 30 years ago.
