It was a money issue and at that point it needed Crane's approval.

Dana does the dirty work in teeing it up then Crane approves the extra spend.

Today the #Astros reportedly acquired OF Jesus Sanchez ($12.6M surplus trade value) from the Marlins in exchange for RHP Ryan Gusto ($6.3M), SS Chase Jaworsky ($1.4M) and OF Esmil Valencia ($0.9M) ($8.6M total).

The deal is accepted by our model as a major underpay by Houston.

The Astros are pushing hard to acquire Dylan Cease from the Padres, per source. Cease was Houston's top target as of Wednesday night, and after trading for Carlos Correa and Jesus Sanchez, that is still the case.
