I mentioned at some point yesterday that the Jake square is already a virtual lock - he' would have to come back and go at least 0-for-98 to finish below .230. That would mean him coming back tonight and having 3.6 at-bats per game the rest of the year and not getting a hit in any of the games. But we'll wait a few more days until it's a real real thing.

We play them for 6 games this month - they also have 3 against the Mets and 3 agains Milwaukee.

They still have a pretty tough road ahead.

This. Their time catching the Guardians, Angels, A's, and D-backs is about to be over.

Unlike the Astros they beat the bad teams. But also unlike the Astros, they get easily exposed by the good ones (29-44 against >.500 opponents).

I don't see Texas jumping 2 teams to win the division.

I can see them making a run to jump the 2nd place team and competing for the WC but I don't see them as a threat to win the division.

I understand your love for Saladbar, but don't get confused. In his tiny sample, he has a higher whiff rate than Yainer while having a much slower bat. Even if you take his minor league stats - Whiff%, K%, EV, HH%, Brl%, etc.

Yainer in full on swing mode chasing everything > Saladbar vs AAA.

Salazar looked like he knew how to swing a bat and field his position the last 2 times he played. I'll take what my eyes see every time over Diaz flailing at pitches that land in the on-deck circle

Yainer has a higher CS% and Framber has been #s when Yainer catchers him. The black hole has the same wRC+ (91) as Altuve with RISP. You wanna bench him too?

I don't think Diaz is a worse hitter than Salazar, but I grew more and more concerned with Diaz's effort level when he's in the field and when he is batting. I really wish he could subscribe to the Martin Maldonado School of JUST ****ING STAND THERE once in a while to realize that they are throwing him the kind of stuff that an 11-year-old wouldn't swing at because he's so completely lost at the plate.
