What do you even do with this guy? That looked...just not good.

Has he done things like this before?

How do you go into the playoffs with this looming over?

Where does it rank in all-time sports meltdowns?

Off the top of my head...
Antonio Brown?
Zidane in the WC?
Orlando Brown?
Mcenroe?
Artest?
Tyson ear bite?
Suarez

Or not even close? I am asking you guys.

How do you maintain the team if Framber was able to do that without anything other than Joe telling him to not do it again?

Apparently he was in town yesterday...guess he was getting training from the medical staff on how not to do his job.

Framber appears to have crossed the line from being just a hothead who has trouble managing his emotions to POS teammate/person.

I recall saying something on here last year when Framber had a meltdown and giving away a game.

The majority of yall called me a dumbass.

The chickens have come home to roost.

Yeah......Kind of glad we haven't resigned framber. When hes on hes great, but this was unacceptable. He threw a temper tantrum, like a child.
I live in waco....therefore, I am ready to move elsewhere.

Yes he has. Not to this extent because this is way over the line.

But IIRC it was sometime last year when he had a bad outing and turns out he was just straight up going rouge from what Yanier was calling and throwing what he wanted. Completely deviated from the gameplan and went into Framber DGAF mode.

Like this situation it was obvious enough that they had to make some comments and that was the end of it.

So nothing like this but yes he's had a problem being an ass to his catchers and not listening to them and doing his own thing. This is just on a whole new level.

I can't wait for ketch to chime in on this with what he can share.

He is who he's always been. Unfortunately the majority of the world forgives (enables) POS behavior when someone is a great athlete.

The "La Grasa" persona along with the terrible emotion regulation has always made me think that he's probably a guy that requires constant attention/validation in order to maintain a fragile self-image. I hope he gets the help he needs and I also hope the team takes a strong stance.

It's such a delicate line the team has to thread because we also want draft compensation for him in the offseason. If you cut him, you can't offer a QO. If you just suspend him and then offer the QO, his offers plummet and you might be stuck with him again next year.

But if he was really looking for Fried money, he's completely **** the bed and isn't getting close to that now.

if nothing happens to Framber...

that means Dana and/or Espada are concerned about their future with the club

i.e. another wildcard exit could prompt change

I love Salazar's glance into the dugout after Framber threw the cross-up pitch. That glance literally "screams" what just happened.

Salazar then says it was his fault. Sorry, I don't buy it. But what's a journeyman player to do? Show up a "star" pitcher and contradict him? That's not going to happen.

Pack Framber's bag & send him packing.

If I'm Joe and Dana I'm suspending him indefinitely. I'm telling him if he wants to pitch again he needs to get right with the guys and until he earns their trust back he won't pitch.

Be clear that this is not an IL stint. This is a team disciplinary matter that they're handling behind closed doors but until it gets handled he'll be skipped in the rotation.

This way it's public and it's out there but at the same time your not completely undressing him. Shows everyone your not taking it lightly while at the same time leaving a door open for his return only if he can mend those fences.

The rosters have expanded now so you can afford to not place him on the IL and call up someone to take his spot.

This incident highlights how the job of being a manager is a lot more complex than people think. Everyone understands the Xs and Os and it's easy to rage and think we know better. But what we don't know is what goes on behind the scenes and how hard it is to manage the egos and personalities of some of these man-babies like Framber. That's one thing Dusty was obviously excellent at.

Is it too much to ask to not sit Yordan and Jesus and his 1.000+ OPS vs Fried? I don't think so. But the fact that the org has managed this narcissist baby huey so well for so long deserves recognition.

If the Astros go public with the issue, Framber is risking losing millions of dollars. Maybe even tens of millions. His agent should be up his ass telling him to play nice, apologize to Sesaer, Joe, Altuve, Dana, Crane...whoever, and stay on his best behavior for 1-2 more months. On paper, he's worth 200 M this offseason. But if you're an ******* who can't put the team first during a playoff push then you get heavily discounted by the market.

And yes this is bad from a big picture clubhouse chemistry aspect but lets not let the fact that because he didn't step off and get right with his catcher he rushed himself and threw a half ass meatball of a pitch that got smoked for a GS and buried whatever chance we had at winning that game.

His antics cost us a game in a tight September division race.

This guy has got Orioles written all over him.

He will be our new #1 and we will give him at least $150 million.

We played Framber perfectly and I'm so glad we didn't extend him. We milked all of his productive twenties and early 30's cheaply, and now he gets to get a gigantic contract somewhere else and be a complete albatross.

What Middlebrooks says is totally correct, if you did accidentally cross up a catcher, and you beam him in the chest with a fastball; you at least run over to him and make sure he's okay. Not glare and pout and be a complete scumbag on the mound.

My pick is the Red Sox. He'd fit nicely with Cora over there.

Not sure how/why the team would trust Framber at this point moving forward. Maybe come up with some 10-day "itis" in the meantime while sorting this out?
BigPete3281

We will use this opportunity to get him a little cheaper.

Albert Belle
Chris Davis
Tyler O'Neil
Framber Valdez

It's pretty much guaranteed.

That is kind of what I was thinking. A business-savvy team says they'll rein him in and get value.

Hmmmmm Chandler has to be thanking his stars for this story during this boring ass stretch of ball.

FWIW, I heard it extended beyond Salazar, Framber, and Joe. Some of the vets got involved. Glad to hear they aren't putting up with that sh**

I'm at the point where I'll thank Framber for his service and the 2022 WS title (should have been the WS MVP in my opinion) … but now I'll be content he's gone.

I hope with his attitude issues he either
A. Goes to a team that sucks
B. Goes to a big market team and gets to deal with their media who won't put up with bad performances or attitude (New York, Philly, LA, or Boston)

He's going to be hard to root for once he leaves here given his antics the last few months

Well, the game is the top story on MLB Central and DeRo is giving it a breakdown.

Yep. This, combined with how borderline un-startable he's been for a month, combined with being a publicly awful teammate in increasingly unforgivable ways. He wants Fried money? It was funny to see him up against Fried so the difference between them could be laid bare on the same field.

Framber's game log since the calendar flipped to August and the division race got tight. Pretty much when we've needed him most as an ace… even with some run support, that record wouldn't change. 6.37 ERA

This. See ya. Hindsight 20/20, but man I wish we would have traded him this past deadline....

I've been a big Framber supporter but this crosses the line. He's an absolute dumbass and should be disciplined.

I do wonder if a veteran manager would have handled Framber differently throughout the season. I guarantee you one thing, if he did that to Maldy there would have been serious repercussions - like fisticuffs on the field.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I've had enough of the Framber BS. DFA his ass immediately, or send him down if he has any minor league options left.

It is obvious he did what he did last night on purpose. He hasn't helped the team win in over a month, and at this point he doesn't deserve to be a part of any winning this team may experience this post season. It is one thing to talk some **** about a teammate, but to put them in a position where they can get hurt is crossing the line. **** him.

The 2025 season still matters. You have to try and resolve it internally. We're not going to make a run without success starting pitching. We need to squeeze every last drop out of Framber this month and next, then move on.
