All I know is that today… I'm at Kyle field. Will watch an Aggie win, enjoy a nice steak dinner, and some family time.

It'll be a nice mental break from Astros baseball

I like how whoever wins, it will be an Aggie win, so you're technically correct no matter what.

Aggies win … but also Aggies lost

Hate to say it but this team is beat mentally the minute they get on base. They know how bad the production is and I suspect they are all pressing so hard to score it's making it worse.

This isn't bad luck. It's a mentally whipped team. It's not going to fix itself.

RISP is this year's "win at Minute Maid" or "batter's eye" or <insert other excuse here>.

Something happens, then it happens again, people write about it, the player's press, more is written and it balloons into something bigger than it has any right to be.

They just need to quit trying to be the hero hitting a HR every at bat with RISP. Focus on the situational aspects of hitting to advance runners instead of trying to massacre the ball.

I actually think it's the opposite. It looks to me, especially lately, they are trying to go more oppo and it's resulting in lazy fly outs and all the singles.

I'd encourage them catch the ball out front more and pull the ball more with launch angle. There is a reason Parades has 50 RBI in 94 games and it's not because he's going oppo and trying to advance runners from base to base.

They try to pull everything - including outside pitches - and that's why they lead the league in GiDPs.

They need to hit more outside pitches the opposite way - otherwise known as "hit it where's it's thrown". And yes, you can hit for power going the opposite way.

With that said, I can't comment on their launch angle approach since I don't think they have one.

I think I might just turn the game on in the 6th inning when it's 0-0 and DeGrom has been pulled because he's exhausted from throwing 80 pitches.

In theory, this lineup should mash. In theory.

Man, if Spencer needs Tommy John and we could've gotten Cease that would suck

Playing what if with future injuries isn't fair.

We could have traded for Cease and he could have ended up needing TJ 2 weeks later.

I'm not counting on Jake until I see him be able to run out to center field without crumpling to the ground

IMO, Paredes will be the super PH option (if he comes back). Caratini probably the first pinch hitter and save Paredes for the most leverage at bat.

I think in a postseason situation, Paredes would DH most of the time with Yordan in LF and Altuve at 2B.

I think the only thing that would change that would be a road game with a big LF that they want to keep Yordan/Altuve away from.

There are 20 games left with Jake returning to the lineup. Since there's no way in hell that Espada lets him play every day, it's impossible his average can drop below .230 from where it is right now, so I'm calling the Jake > .230 square a win for everyone who picked it.

That's 11 people - here's the list and your new totals. I'm going to update the overall standings page and what everyone's new possible maxes are in a couple of days once Abreu gets to 100K.

3B Paul 97 4
texasaggie2015 6
iBrad 7
tjack16 3
RED AG 98 6
gambochaman 4
Marvin 7
jkag89 3
Booma94 4
Socrates 3
1836er 4

Also I'm shutting down the LA wins 108 games square, which was only 1 person, but was long overdue. They can't even win 100 now.

Also the White Sox can't lose 115+, They're up to 54 wins on a 6-game streak. The worst they can do is 54-108, and they're on pace to be 20 games better than a year ago, pretty shocking. Unfortunately, one of the 2 people to pick the White Sox square was Prosperdick, who is still at 1 square (the free one). He also picked the Dodgers square. He needs Pena, and Diaz to hit some HR, along with Tuck and Bregman, and needs Yordan to stay nuclear.

Alvarez playing 2nd base!?!

Interesting strategery, Joe. Interesting strategery.

I hope that doesn't bite us in the ass.

Well, I just doomed my evening. Checked the Astros website to see the lineup for tonight, and noticed the game is on FOX which means I WILL WATCH the trainwreck for the 2nd consecutive night. I just can't stop looking
