Pretty damning on the pitching coaches that Bregman helped Hunter Brown out last season.
If the pitching coaches didn't already have a long resume of success turning nobodies into MLB pitchers, I would agree with you. It is one thing for a veteran player to say the right thing at the right time to an individual young player to make them better. It is another thing for a veteran to come in and convince the whole team to buy in to a changed approach to hitting to correct something that has been a problem all season long.
Guess we'll see if it continues the rest of the season or if it was a one game thing.
Lot of credit going to one guy for one game a month and a half after the trade deadline.
DeGrom is 1-3 against Houston this season, 2 with Correa and 2 without Correa. He went 8 innings in May, 6 inning in July, 5.1 innings Sep 6, and 5 innings Sep 17
So did the team not buy into Correa's "collective approach" the Sep 6 game but they did the game yesterday?
Look - quite frankly, I don't really care. Get rid of the hitting coaches. It'll make the board happy and I'll get to stop hearing about it until the ASB next year.
