Agree. Was there anything public about why he wasn't activated today? I heard he is with the team and worked out with them today. Surely we didn't postpone it a day just to give Neris his 10 year vestment??

I think it's a combination of allowing him to hit 10 years and setting up the bullpen to where we could burn his arm today and replace him tomorrow. No one in the bullpen has options aside from maybe King, and he's not getting sent down. Somebody has to take the fall.

Abreu came out of the bullpen throwing 93 / 94 yesterday and had to get 5 outs after pitching Friday and having to warm up in the bullpen Saturday. It would be managerial malpractice to pitch him tonight. It's more important to have him in October than have him blow out his arm tonight.
