my god this thread is exhausting. two months ago Joe was going to win the manager of the year award and now we want him fired and the entire team imploded.

Again, let's not forget before this season started we lost two of our best hitters in Bregman and Tucker, and essentially Yordan as well due to injury. With that being said this team is somehow still in FIRST PLACE in the division and it has the third best record in the AL. Not sure if some of yall are just now discovering the game of baseball, or generally don't understand the ebb's and flows of the game (especially a MLB season). BUT, CALM THE F DOWN.

Yes, they are slumping and look bad currently but take a deep breath and enjoy the fact they are even in contention for the division and a playoff spot.

Exactly. The Astros are winning at a 55% clip, which beats the 54% target the Mariners strive to achieve (and, checks standing, are currently sitting on) according to their own GM.

So sit back, accept blowout losses, and enjoy the suck. Mediocrity is the new window that never closes!

I could care less about blowout loses, as well as a 55% or less winning percentage. making the playoffs and doing well once you get there is what matters.

Lately this team seems to lose games they should win and win games they should lose, so my prediction is an 8-2 victory over Skubal tonight.

Yep. Facing an ace is often enough to get them to actually pay attention when they are hitting instead of just going up there swinging at everything. Against the scrubs they just seem to go to the plate with no coherent plan for what they are trying to do. Seems like something a good coach could help out with straightening out.

How much less could you care?

I fully expect Chas to spend the offseason becoming a reliever.

He will be our version of Ohtani.

There's obviously one reliever out there that nobody is thinking about who could make or break an entire season if someone has the stones to pick him up.

Tucker's replacement who just got called up for his MLB debut and appears to be 15 years old hits a 2-run single to put the Cubs up early on MIlly waukay.

Did Tuck just get Wally Pipped?

If Wally Pipp then signed a half billion dollar contract

He's been Owen Caissied. Apparently the guy has made 2 great catches in RF as well. Big kid.

Cassie was traded to Chicago in the deal that sent Darvish and Caratini to San Diego.

That's a lot of field to cover for Chas from the pitchers mound.

Space Cowboys are away this week, Hooks are home.

Rehabbers are generally kept closer to home.

I have a gut feeling we won't be watching our Astros in October this year. Just too much has happened to our roster.

Tucker's replacement just added a HR. 2 for 3 with 3 RBI against the Brewers today.

He was hit five times in that series and I believe three of the HBPs came from the same pitcher. I would be pissed, too.

Its been a tough few days for sure, but we aren't going to be this anemic on offense forever.

Wonder if he will think back about Pena getting the same treatment from the Mariners while he is serving his suspension?

Here is the video of every time he was hit. Sorry that it's from Jomboy Media:

It's like some on this thread haven't watched baseball before.

Things ebb and flow. The team is sometimes good and sometimes sucks. You just want to be good more than you are bad. The pendulum will swing back the other way soon enough.

Why do we have a pitcher batting in the lineup?
htxag09
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Should the last HBP (where he threw the bat) should have been a strike? I get that intent is important and some people bring the bat through the zone when trying to get out of the way of a ball.....but he definitely looked like he was intending and starting a swing when the pitch was thrown, and that swing kept going....

And sometimes, it rains. That's baseball.

It's like some on this thread have never read this thread, lol.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Fine... Be pissed. But throw your helmet out there or just charge the mound like everyone else, no need to hurl the lumber.
