Espada being addicted to using pinch-hitters like his life depends on it but leaving Dubon in there to take the AB with the game on the line is some galaxy brain stuff.

Just walking away after a hosed strike 3 call shows an insane amount of give up. At least give them ump something. We roll over a take it more than any team I've ever followed.

Are you really telling me using Caratini with the bases loaded in the 8th and 1 out with Urias batting is a stupid decision?

Not sure if sarcasm but if you're asking me whether I'd rather have Urias batting than Dubon, the answer is yes. Caratini can pinch-hit for anyone.

Your choices were Melton and Sanchez. Both of whom shouldn't ever be allowed to hold a bat against LHP.

Then we are going to disagree. I'd rather have Dubon bat than Urias. I at least know Dubon is going to make contact and not strikeout.

When Dubon makes contact it's usually a GIDP so I'd take a K and living to fight another AB.

Right. Which is why I'd risk Urias K'ing so Caratini can then pinch-hit for the noodle bat who looks like he's bowling when he hacks at balls 3 and 4 and ends our last chance.
Or maybe Urias doesn't K because he has a semi-competent approach a little more often at the plate. Who knows.
