Weak. Would've been better to keep quiet imo

That is...odd.

You can justify going several different ways in regards to how you handle it publicly. All I care about it is that it needs to be handled properly internally.

But that is an odd choice to make an additional vague statement. Last night was a vague "nothing to see here". Now he attempts to give clarity to what happened without giving said clarity. He should have simply said "I have nothing further to say and we are moving forward" if he WASN'T going to be more candid.

That just comes off as wishy-washy.

Looking forward to the team's response on the field tonight. Great opportunity to put this noise behind em.

Need some leadership to step up. Hopefully Correa still has it

Maybe Joe is auditioning for a spot on the medical team by being wishy-washy.

This is another situation where the team management is out there saying things that the rest of the baseball world can plainly see aren't true. Like Tucker being out months for a bruise last year. Everybody but Dana and Joe were aware that it was much more than a bruise and likely a fracture based on how long it was taking him to recover.

When the whole world of baseball fans and media can see with their own eyes that Framber shook off his catcher to give up a grand slam and then deliberately beaned him in the chest with a fastball, if you aren't going to come out and state the plain truth that everybody knows, just shut up and refuse to comment. Coming out with some wishy washy statement that doesn't acknowledge the truth of what happened and doesn't condemn it in any way is just tremendously weak.

There are times when a manager has to be willing to stick up for the rest of the guys on the team by calling out a player who is blowing it for them and isn't willing to saddle up and take responsibility for their actions. This is one of those times. Framber has had a chance to tell the truth, and now Joe and Dana need to tell it for him and let him carry it.

Barring a deep playoff run, Espada is toast. Fan outrage and media alone will help Crane make the decision.

I don't know the inside politics. If I had to guess, I would say that if we limp into the playoffs and exit early due to an anemic offense, he might keep his job based on how the first half of the season went, but will likely have to ditch at least one hitting coach to save himself.

D-Backs did us a solid taking 2 in a row from the Rangers. Need to take advantage and win tonight

The Framber situation is the rare time you're really missing an older guy like Verlander or even Pressley in the clubhouse. Pitchers are obviously a different breed than hitters, but disrespecting the guy who is repeatedly saving your ass should not stand.

We have some "older" guys. Jose, Carlos, Walker. Walker doesn't strike me as the get in your face kind of guy. That's CC.

Pitchers who are older are Hader, Lance and I guess Kimbrel and Okert in that they have more years in. But Kimbrel hadn't been here long enough to do it and no long reliever can. Lance could

I'm just not sure Framber would listen to anyone short of Jose or CC.

He needs Machete.

It's going to be very very interesting next time Framber takes the mound, if and when he does. How does he respond to all this bs that he has brought on to himself? His sports psychologist has his work cut out for him for damn sure. I think Framber needs to take a break for a couple of weeks and let the other starters go:

And Arrighetti is now on the IL with an elbow issue.

Great. Wonderful. Another starter down.

Maybe Framber can get an elbow issue. That would solve some issues.

So the problem is that he asked him to step off...not that Framber ignored the catcher and then tried to injure him...did I get that right Joe? Holy crap get this man away from the organization.

Tells us the speculation is not true without telling us what was said in the meeting. Just trust me, bro...that only works if you a reliable source of information, and Joe has shown us time and again that he is not. Reminds me of something else in the news recently...

The only issue that solves is freeing up time for players to vacation in October…
