What else is the 3rd base coach gonna tell him there. At that point its a double play. Only hope is maybe he trapped it so send him anyway. Not like he can go back to 2nd

This is about an unclutch team as I've seen in a very long time. Had a shot in the late innings, season the line, and we K twice and then act like dumbasses on the bases. Just incredible.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but Joe isn't going anywhere. After what he pulled the team through last year and all the injuries we've been through this year, I would consider him a lock for a third year.

Bottom line is the Mariners have been lots, lots better since the trade deadline and we have been much, much worse. Sucks to end a season this way, but it's feeling like this team will be golfing a lot soon. I hope I'm wrong.

I just see a manager that has 2 seasons under his belt now and 1 full season of garbage baseball with the first half of last year and the second half of this year.
He seems to be a certified Nice Guy coach and I don't see that playing out a third season. Like Wade Phillips there's a shelf life with this style

Personally, I dont like the way Joe handles this team. I want a manager with some fire and one that demands accountability. It's hard to say that Joe has either of those qualities.

Great point. They saw a total of 6 pitches and maybe mad contact twice?
