How does that trade make sense for the Tigers? They are still a playoff team and he's pretty much there keep peace to having any chance of winning at all
They can't keep him and he's a free agent after the season. Makes sense for them to maintain a long term vision. Contrary to some opinions on this board, it is still possible for unproven young guys to help you win. When you don't have an unlimited budget like the Dodgers you have to take that risk occasionally.tjack16 said:

FWIW - I was told by someone pretty well plugged into the organization that they expect Parades to be the opening day first baseman. This was very recent.
If Houston moves him, that would be a pretty sudden change of direction from where they were at recently.

I don't think we're shopping Paredes, but if someone approaches us with a deal that's too good to pass up, well, it would be too good to pass up.

That's good to hear at least. We were 21st in runs, 9th in runs allowed, even with all the injuries.
Not sure why the front office thinks that indicates we need to go all in on trading away some of our limited batting production to get more pitching.
And at a certain point the injuries aren't an anomaly, so you can't just plan on Alvarez or anyone else to play more.
Only happening if they eat half his contract or take on another bad contract. And you won't be getting anything of value in return. Basically accomplishing nothing but freeing up a few million.texasaggie2015 said:
More than likely.

Seems stupid. What if a bug flies in someone's eye? And then if you make an exception for that you'll be shocked how many bugs are flying into batter's eyes!

Also, Walker has a 6-team no trade clause.

Our offensive struggles were largely injury related. At the moment, we have a surplus of everyday players, so why not trade one to help the rotation?
Everyone is pushing to trade the guy who led the team in HRs and RBIs last season, and who also didn't spend a significant amount of time on the IL. Any worry in losing that production?
