Spadilly and a nontexagger this day in 2019.

Beat the rays 6-1.
Garrit Cole got the win. 8 innings, 10 Ks, 1 run. Osuna pitched the 9th.
Glasnow got the loss.
Brantley and Altuve homered.
One heck of a lineup.

That should have been our second WS title. That team was soooo good.

They broke Strasbourg winning that one.

I went to a game against Montreal when Caminiti made an incredible catch on an infield pop-up for the last out. It was amazing to a mere mortal like me but just another day in the life for him. Miss that guy.

Cami was a super good dude too. I've had a couple interactions with him.

Spring training game in FL as a 10 yo or so. Back when regulars barely played. He was in the stands with his wife and little kids. I saw him and was walking his way with a pen and card to get an autograph. His wife saw me and got all pissy I was walking over to them. Cami saw me, shushed her, waved me over anyway, signed my card and chatted for a minute or so.

Later after he divorced the awful woman from above he moved into the hood I grew up in. Worked at the country club and he was crazy nice all the time when he'd come in.

He loved kids. We moved to First Colony in '82 and lots of Astros, Rockets, Oilers and a few Gamblers (Jim Kelly namely) lived out there. We'd run into them all the time. Anyhow, when Caminiti came to town we ran into him and his family at Sweet Mequite restaurant. He would get down on all fours in the restaurant and chase his kids around the table and sometimes other kids. He chased me and a buddy around once and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. He never did not have time for kids. I was so sad when he was traded and moreso when he passed. Such a great dude that got mixed up in the wrong stuff.

Which is really odd because their fans acted like they just won the World Series a couple weeks ago

I'm very confused. If Josh Naylor is this good a hitter and base runner why have two teams been willing to let him go in less than 9 months?

Maybe we should have traded for Naylor. Dude is single handedly taking the Ms to the ALCS.

I'm breaking my promise and watching this game while I do some work. damn you, sports!

I think is the first non-Astros baseball playoff game I've watched since 2001.

Watching my first game of the playoffs.

I see Seattle is already getting help.
