Yeah I don't see them keeping Chas. He doesn't play, and they have zero plans to change that

Yes, Urquidy situation (even worse because you don't trust him to take care of himself).

Chas likely gone as well but agree with previous poster that Dubon should be traded if you are keeping both Pena and Correa. Urias can fill his role fine as long as you don't need a SS and I am sick of seeing him in the OF.

I'm worried about the rotation next year. Let's assume Valdez is gone.

Brown- TORP and legit #1 on many teams
Javier- Ended the year healthy but not effective
Alexander- Great job out of nowhere, but let's be serious
France- #5 at best, if healthy
Blubaugh- maybe something here if stretched out in spring training
Arrighetti- any news on his elbow discomfort?
Gordon- Is there such a thing as a poor man's Alexander?
McCullers- I mean, there are 17 million reasons why he'll get a chance
Blanco, Wesneski, Walter- next year's Javier?

One of those guys could consistently pitch into and through the 5th inning. One. Don't even bother comparing that group to the Mariners, Guardians, Rangers, Tigers... hell even the A's. Outside of Brown, the list above is a massive pile of suspicious-smelling funk.

Signing a solid #2 will replace good Framber, but no further, so the Astros need more. I'd replace the hitting coaches, pray for a healthy lineup, and spend on two starters. You can always use the excess pitching as deadline trade bait.

Arrighetti. I think he's getting a second opinion? But TJ seems on the table.
Lance. I wish he could figure it out. His movement is the best in MLB.
Blanco, Wesneski, Walter. See you after the strike is over. 2027? 2028?

We need 2 arms. 2 good ones. We had one until he pulled the pin on his personal hand grenade, threw it the locker room and walked out laughing like he was Heath Ledger playing the Joker.

I don't see Chas or Urias being non-tendered, but I can see them being traded, someone will give us something for them. I'd like to keep Urias especially if Dubon is traded. Dubon gives us alot of position flexibility, but his bat...I'd like to see more of Brice Matthews out there if he can handle it defensively.

Who is eligible for the Rule V draft and do we want to protect them?

Another thing I've noticed watching these playoff games is that good teams have starters and relievers throwing absolute gas- and they can locate. The Astros have Brown, Abreu (who cannot locate very well), and Hader (who throws a lower octane of gas these days).

I'm all for movement and location, but heat and location remain a gold standard.

18th in ERA in the 2nd half. It absolutely was a problem.

We need a high-end arm to replace Framber. We also need to continue to shop the bargain bins. Alexander and Walter were huge surprises. Keep bringing in guys who can try and fix.

I was more referring to their approach and their overall philosophy.

If they are after spin over velo who am I argue with them at this point.

I have confidence that either way the pitching lab will put a quality rotation on the field. That confidence is not there on the offensive side.
