Trying to decide where to take a 3-4 day trip in the middle of October.

My wife has been to Nashville before but I haven't. New Orleans is also on our list and neither of us have been. In New Orleans we would go to visit the WW2 museum, eat some cajun food, listen to some music and maybe go out on an air boat tour.

Nashville we would go listen to live music, try new restaurants and go to the country music hall of fame.

We are thinking it still might be a little to hot and humid in New Orleans but the weather in Nashville would be about perfect.

Any thoughts or recommendations? still newly weds and no kids yet.

Agreed. Went on a golf trip to Nashville early October time frame a few years back. Fantastic weather and the fall foliage was in full swing.

Really depends on what you prioritize. If food and history rank high, New Orleans is the no-brainer. If fall foliage is more important, Nashville would be your option. I have spent a fair amount of time in both cities and I would go to NO over Nashville 9 times out of 10. But I want great food and I love the history of NO.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

If you want some place that's safe, clean, and where everyone speaks English, Nashville hand's down.

I am going to have to disagree. I love New Orleans, and the WWII museum is amazing. Better food than Nashville. Music is different. Jazz versus bro-country. Not as many batchelorette's running around. I liked the people in both places. Also, New Orleans has gambling.

October weather in NOLA is nice. Great fishing weather if you're into that. Just watch for Hurricanes as that's still part of the season. Do a swamp tour up in Slidell, go to the WWII museum, have dinner at one of the gazillion amazing places to eat. Only thing you won't be getting as other posters have said is fall colors.
