Anybody ever done this? We are going to do the first half now and the second half in November.

Start DFW - Memphis.

Memphis - Chicago.

Route 66 starts in Chicago, we will wind our way down to Amarillo with 5 layovers.

I have 8 renditions of, "get your Kicks on Route 66" downloaded for the drive.

Any inputs?

The meteor crater between Winslow and Flagstaff, AZ is worth a visit. When you turn off the interstate, there's a KOA there and the original rt 66 is next to it. You can drive down it a ways. It's pretty neat.

eta: That's if you make your way that far west. It's a great drive out there.
