Howdy! I'm a student working in a lab in the industrial & systems engineering department on campus this summer, and we are currently running a few studies involving diabetics. Right now, we are looking for participants who are either type II diabetic or prediabetic. (you can be located anywhere)
Is anyone interested? We are flexible to schedule onboarding anytime in the next few weeks. The onboarding meeting lasts no longer than 30 minutes, and we will ship you your smart scale and glucometer to use for the 30 day duration of the study. More information is below!
Participants Needed: Investigating Behavior Change Methods for the Management of Diabetes
Are you a diabetes patient? Do you wish you can better adopt healthy habits that help you manage
your condition better? Then you are invited to participate in a new study. The TAMU Applied
Cognitive and Ergonomics (ACE) Lab will be studying the effectiveness of behavior change in the
management of diabetes and its associated symptoms. The study will be performed virtually and
any devices involved will be shipped to your home address.
The study will begin with a 30 minute meeting to first understand the required tasks and fill in the preliminary
questionnaires.
The participant will then be provided a Bluetooth-enabled glucometer and a weight scale.
Participants will record their readings on a daily basis for a period of 30 days.
Every day the participant will take their weight, and glucose level through a mobile application.
Then, at the end of the 30 days, they would report their beliefs regarding the regimen.
You will be provided a $150 Amazon Gift Card, weight scale, and Bluetooth-enabled glucometer for completing the study.
Any person who meets the following criteria is welcome to participate in the study:
1. Inclusion Criteria
There are no direct benefits from being in this study, but you will be provided a $150 Amazon Gift Card, weight scale, and Bluetooth-enabled glucometer for completing the study. You will also be contributing to new
insights on behavior change, especially in managing diabetes.
