Does buying and selling an MLP generate multiple K1s, or do they send you one consolidated one for the year?

You'll get one K-1 for each MLP. The K-1 will list every date of sale and the amount of units sold and the profit off of each sale. That's how I recall it (in my case it was in 2022).

Any idea how it would work if I bought and sold in Vanguard, then re-bought in Fidelity at a later date?

I don't, as in my case it was all with one broker (Schwab).

ha, they're not that bad to enter. and the pain of not having to log into vanguard any more will be worth it.

You might find yourself in "tax step transitions".

I'm assuming that if I transfer shares of an MLP from Vanguard to Fidelity, no sale, not gains/losses, just a straight transfer, I'd still just get 1 k-1? Anyone have an idea?
