Man - I hope they have their financing sorted and that they're making progress on the plant.

Do we have a bingo card ready?

"Significant challenges"

"market uncertainty" The macroeconomic environment in 2025 was challenging,

I'll give you that one.

We missed out on

  • project timing slippage in water infrastructure
  • strong backlog opportunities
  • leveraging our infrastructure
  • high-margin opportunities
  • smaller projects leverage the entire system, creating attractive returns.
Honey, did you take out the trash? No dear, I had some project timing slippage, but I see some strong backlog opportunities. Despite these temporal pressures, our updated management plan reflects continued discipline in engineering, procurement, and project execution

Seems like a dog ate my homework company. Still own 0 shares. Not that I don't own a zillion shares of other stocks that have had an awful past 6 months.

Ran the presentation through chatGPT to get view (I use it fairly extensively and have it working through various "agents" for different assessments. This one used an investment agent and a retirement planning agent to debate what they see here. I "informed" those agents of how I see this play in the context of my overall investment portfolio and acknowledged up front the speculative nature of the play.

Take it for what it's worth but thought it worth sharing.

WWR YE2025 Results + Deck Key Takeaways

After going through the release and deck, here's my read:

1. Macro thesis still intact
Domestic graphite supply + EV / battery demand continues to be a strong tailwind. The strategic positioning of a U.S.-based producer still makes sense.

2. Real progress at Kellyton
More than 50% of the ~$245M capex has been invested, and Phase 1 (12,500 mtpa) is moving forward with a path to expansion. This is no longer just conceptual.

3. Offtake demand looks promising (but not fully de-risked)
They note Phase 1 capacity is nearly sold out, which is encouraging but the key question remains the quality and binding nature of those agreements.

4. Still pre-commercial / execution phase
No meaningful revenue yet the story is still about getting the plant operational and scaling production.

5. Financing remains the biggest open question
They've spent ~$125M so far, but still need to secure the remaining capital. No major update here, and this is still the key swing factor.

6. Coosa = long-term upside, not near-term driver
Permitting and drilling continue, but this is a multi-year value lever.

Investment view / watchouts:
For me, this remains a high-risk, high-upside position where the thesis is intact but still unproven. I'm not treating this as a trade it's a hold pending clearer signals.

The key things I'm watching going forward:
Securing non-dilutive or strategic financing
Binding offtake agreements (not just qualification / sampling)
Continued progress toward commercial production at Kellyton
Any signs of delays, dilution, or customer attrition

If those start to land, the upside case strengthens quickly. If not, the risk profile doesn't change much from where we are today.

TLDR version for me was…

WWR's annual meeting is coming up.
In the proxy letter, noticed these 2 items of interest:

2. Approve an amendment to our 2013 Omnibus Incentive Plan, as amended, to increase the authorized number of shares of
common stock available and reserved for issuance under such Plan by 6,100,000 shares.
3. Approve an increase in the number of authorized shares of common stock from 200,000,000 shares to 400,000,000 shares.

Thoughts on impact of share price?

Well it's already pretty low. I guess it'll go from 60 cents to 30 cents. Again.

I own shares in Fidelity, so they sent me an email with the link to the info so I can vote my few shares. Your brokerage should be sending it to you soon.
Might be on their website too, I'm not sure.

Q1 report out:

https://wes****erresources.com/investor/news/news-details/2026/Wes****er-Resources-Announces-First-Quarter-2026-Business-Results/default.aspx

Quote:

"During the first quarter, we continued to advance our vertically integrated, mine-to-market graphite platform in Alabama," said Frank Bakker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wes****er Resources. "Our focus remains on execution across Coosa permitting, qualification activities, and measured construction progress at Kellyton, while actively pursuing financing initiatives to support completion of Phase I. We are prioritizing non-dilutive and lower-cost capital where available, including potential government funding programs, as we work to build a domestic supply chain for battery-grade graphite."

Ran it through an AI agent that I've been using to track this for awhile now and here are its key takeaways:

Wes****er Resources reported a solid operational progress quarter, with the key theme being continued advancement of its domestic graphite platform in Alabama while focusing heavily on securing remaining project financing.

Overall impression:
Operationally, the project appears materially further along than many people likely realize. The main remaining question now appears less about whether they can build the project and more about how they complete financing while minimizing dilution.

Some of the biggest takeaways:
Coosa Graphite Deposit permitting continues moving forward, including FAST-41 federal permitting designation and additional environmental permit filings.

Kellyton Phase I construction continues progressing, with the company stating approximately $130M has already been invested into the project.

The qualification line is operational and producing CSPG (battery-grade graphite) samples for customer testing and qualification activities.

Management emphasized that Wes****er is positioning itself as one of the most advanced domestic graphite developers in the U.S.

They reiterated Phase I capital cost estimates (~$245M total), with around $19M contingency still untouched.

Initial production is still expected roughly 12 months after securing remaining financing.

Cash balance ended the quarter at ~$41.5M.

The company continues pursuing financing, with a stated preference for non-dilutive or lower-cost capital sources, including potential government funding programs.

Ongoing discussions continue with battery manufacturers, OEMs, and other potential customers around domestic graphite supply needs.

And here's how it's tracking markers for investing relative to prior reports, news, and discussions we've had.

Category & Assessment
Strategic positioning - Strong
Domestic graphite relevance - Strong
Operational maturity - Improved materially
Project execution credibility - Better than expected
Financing certainty - Still unresolved
Dilution risk - Still meaningful
Long-term upside - Very high
Near-term volatility - Very high

TLDR version - the gotta sort financing. Still.

How can they be working for years on the financing piece if this really has a chance to be a big winner. Someone out there would be willing to take a chance on it if that were the reality. They need a hundred something million? That's nothing for a big institution.

The CEO of Lambo told them to hold off for a bit. They can't make that many Lambos that quickly. Gotta beef up their inventory.

Seriously, like the Mag 7 companies investing in each other, Lambo and WWR should engage in circular investing. Lambo invests in WWR, stock goes up, ---> Lambo sales skyrocket. Electric Lambos using WWR sourced batteries.

Somebody tell Elon to build something on their site and pay them whatever else they need. Tesla or SpaceX or one of those companies could use the graphite I'm sure.
