Salient points expressing my concerns with the programs. One has been cured, the other is still bleeding.
Thrown together rosters? Obviously it can be done. It's all about the coaching.
Three 40 point losses with at least one more coming just digs the hole deeper. We essentially have two
'players' Pryor & Janneh and maybe 3 with Ware when healthy. The other starters/substitutes don't seem to be incorporated into the game plan at all. That is where coaching seems to have failed. They tend to stand around and wait for Janneh & Pryor to make something happen. It's easy for opponents to guard and take them off their games.
Another problem I see is team strength, particularly arm strength. A shot comes off the backboard and I see arms waving like they are at a holy roller church. Many more times than not it is the opponents that get ball and are headed down the court. We can't seem to hold on to the ball much less put it back up for a second chance bucket.
The problem is, where do we go from here with women's basketball?
I am not sure having Joanie continue on the sideline is doing herself or the team any good. Her days of commanding high paying coaching jobs are over. She is just embarrassing herself at this point. And the players deserve better than her decision making on the court and coaching in general. Work out a deal and have yourself reassigned for the remainder of the contract. Continuing to go down the tubes is not a feather in your cap. She'll be reduced to having to resurrect her career at the likes of Tarleton State.
I guess we will see today. According to TaylorSwift Missouri is in worse shape than we are. Obviously a must win for Joanie and her beleaguered program.

Both coaches saw most of their athletes quit and leave them, albeit it's been a recurring theme for Joni Taylor. With G it was just the last season or two. They then both built rosters full of mid major players who just aren't talented enough for the SEC. But the seasons are going very similar. Like soccer won a few against the 2 worst teams in the conference, i expect women's basketball to do the same. However, it's just abundantly clear we are nowhere near average nor remotely close to the top schools in the conference.
