I didn't read the entire thread and understand it has been bumped, but we looked at Peaster about 5 years ago. Looked like a pretty good spot. Has it been built out yet?

Probably best to bump over to the Metroplex forum.

Of all those mentioned in this thread, Godley has remained the smallest and probably easiest commute to Fort Worth.

Glen Rose would be my choice.

I wouldn't entertain those small communities towards PK, as they are just too small and/or too far away (IMO)

Glen Rose is high on my list.

As it is ours also. And I am a small town west Texas guy. Grandbury is also enticing. Lots of Aggie friends there.

Agreed on Granbury as well. Which small town in West Texas?

With the Chisholm trail build out, Godley has exploded in the last 3-5 years. What was once a 45-60 minute drive is now a 30 minute drive to downtown Fort Worth.

There has been some building but still quite a bit of open space. High school is still 3A.

We've been in Granbury for almost 8 years now. I love the town and people especially compared to where we were before(Wylie) which I was not fond of. Our neighborhood is right on the lake just NE of town.

Things I don't like,
traffic can be horrendous on 377 through town and it is only getting worse. There's a lot of development all around Granbury right now. They're building an Academy on the East side of town, but w 377 the way it is most of the time it will still be easier for us to go to Academy in Weatherford.

Schools/athletics. We've had 3 kids in school here now. 1 has graduated and 1 a senior. If you have kids and they're into athletics go anywhere but Granbury. From middle school on up it's the worst run athletics program I've ever seen. A complete joke. You can only lose 100-0 to Aledo(and everyone else) so many times in everything before you get sick of it. And we just moved up to 6a as one of the smallest 6a schools in the state so it will only be worse now. Our kids have had a great experience at the STEAM Academy at Mambrino 1-6 grades but the other schools leave a lot to be desired.

Overal, I really like living here but I would have rather moved to Glen Rose if my wife would have been on board with it. I think it would have been a better experience for our kids.
