Why was my post about selling or leasing our home in Bryan removed? Plenty of other posts with similar messages. Makes no sense.

Mine was removed also. I guess no big deal but yes I agree this makes no sense to me either. Maybe they only let realtors that are paying them a fee for advertisement? That's my guess?

Interesting. Long standing history of people posting their own properties here.

I think it's even addressed in the second "sticky" up top that posting personal properties was permitted?

Here are the rules. Seems a new mod needs to read it

Hey there,

Thanks so much for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We're always happy to clarify!

If you're selling your home by owner (FSBO), you're absolutely welcome to post details about your property.
If you're working with a realtor, though, we ask that you don't post it here, since it essentially promotes their business, and we want to respect the investment our sponsors have made in this space.

We really appreciate your understanding, and let us know if you have any other questions!

Not essentially, but secondary. It essentially promotes their house for sale.

So unless for sale by owner (probably not many) or TexAgs paid advertising realtor then don't post your house for sale. Lol

I'm sorry but this is a ridiculous new stance to take. This is the kind of thing that drives people away altogether.

This is stupid. If I am selling my house (using realtor or not), I should be able to post it.

Also, "the investment of our sponsors" is most likely less than many of us have paid over the duration of our memberships.

You could inquire about a 1-2 month sponsorship?

We all know that TexAgs has an extremely inconsistent moderation policy. The response above is contradictory to the moderation guidelines stickied at the top of the forum.

I respect the need to show preference to sponsors who help facilitate our access to these forums and discussions. I suppose next we won't be able to list our cars for sale on the auto or classified boards since TexAgs has dealership sponsors too.

I'm guessing it's a simple case of the new moderator not understanding the spirit of the policy.

Hopefully they'll get that remedied, as it would seem silly to change the policy completely for no good reason.

As an aside, a good chunk of FSBO's list on the MLS through various services. Those could also be construed as competition to sponsors if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

We are 33-year season ticket holders, daily TexAgs consumers, been on this site for a long time now paying for premium membership. Then, when I want to make sure other Aggies or potential Aggies know my home is for sale, the post is removed. Utter bull crap as Stephen McGee would say.

Oh gosh, don't give them any ideas. They might make Premium membership required in order to post FSBOs.

still waiting on the announcement that mods have walked back this NEW ridiculous policy that directly contradicts the longstanding policy.

After discussion amongst our team, we are happy to honor the following: If you are posting about your individual house, you can definitely do that, whether it is listed through an agent or not.

We do not allow agents to list houses for their business or advertising unless they are a TexAgs sponsor, but if YOU, personally, want to list your house, that is okay. Please specify that it is your personal home so there is no confusion from a moderation standpoint so we can honor our sponsors.

My house went on the market yesterday and I thought about posting it here but since it is located in Eugene, OR I don't think I would really be reaching the target audience.
