Good for Tech!

It takes time to overcome generational incompetence and the self-harm, but Tech should have a fun-ass team to watch this season, if the players live up to their billing. . We'll see if the coaches can get it sorted out.
the stable of running backs is especially intriguing.

The conspiracy theory and misinformation that Tech can't recruit to Lubbock is now dead and buried.

And remember, recruiting is much, much, MUCH more than recruiting 4-5 star freshmen and hoping they stick around. It's about the transfer portal.

Crazy thing is I believe Klingler and Vogel had those numbers in the same game, UH vs TCU. Just an unreal shootout.

Cody Hodges was the Air Raid QB during the 2005 season right before the Graham Harrell era. Lots of experience playing backup to Kingsbury, Symons, and Cumbie. He got in a bit of hot water by saying the Red Raiders could score a 100 on a team after beating Sam Houston 80-21. Hodges beat the Aggies 56-17 and finished 9-3, losing to 'Bama in the Cotton Bowl.

Also beat Nebraska in Lincoln in dramatic fashion to end their 36 Homecoming Game win streak. This was supposed to be a revenge game for the Cornhuskers after getting destroyed 70-10 in Lubbock the year before. This started the trend of schools seeking other conference options after being embarrassed by the little ol' Red Raiders.

Funny. I actually saw Hodges play in Austin in 05. We hung 50 on Tech. It didn't matter who you had behind center because we had VY and an all star D.

That was a weird season in some ways. We could've secured a BCS bid if we only beaten an eventual 4-7 Okie State, but then the next week we knock the Sooners lights out.

Most of the "Shrine Bowl prospects" (code for FUTURE NFL DADDY) are transfers and wouldn't have been eligible for this past NFL draft as Red Raiders.
