Baylor should never have been in the Big12 in the first place but they happened to have alumni in the higher echelons of Texas state gov't at the time.

However, the lower level Big 8 teams were glad Baylor got themselves added.

Says the guy whose football program has zero outright football championships since the Border Conference and zero BCS or New Years 6 bowl appearances.

My family's affinity toward Tech dates back to the 1930's, so of course I root for them, but let's get real pal.

If you think back, the tt legislators fought to get thei school included in the move. tt made a pitch to the pac ten to join that was quickly declined- thus the need to get legislators involved.

Baylor is currently down 17-7 to SMU.

If they lose, I expect a resignation from the Bears on the conference commissioner's desk on Monday morning.

Isn't Tech something like 3-12 vs. Okie Lite since 2009?

Baylor has a lifetime winning record against Tech AND has one 10 of the last 14 games against Tech.

Big-12 should drop Texas Tech and pick up USF.

Kansas State: 15-9 and on an 8-game win streak
Colorado: 6-5, won last year
Baylor: 42-40-1, won last year
Houston: 18-16-1

Former Big 12 teams with a winning record against Tech:

Texas: 55-18, won the last meeting
A&M: 37-32-1, won the last 3
Oklahoma: 23-7
Nebraska: 7-4
Missouri: 6-3, won the last meeting

Extra fun: Tech is currently tied with West Virginia, BYU, and Oklahoma State. They play all 3 this season. Wild to me though that the Big 12 has 4 Texas teams yet Tech will not play Baylor this year.

I really believe that Baylor pulled an A&M and after winning the last game against Tech, begged the conference not to schedule them to play against one another. That way Baylor has Scoreboard in perpetuity without having to flee the conference.
