TVM, if the game is to get to the CFP, Tech beat the hell out of Texas, who started the year as #1 and with the anointed Heisman winner at the helm. Meanwhile Tech, jilted in conference realignment and ranked #24 to start the year in the Big Dumpster Fire conference, will likely take down a first-week bye in the CFP if they can beat the Mormons once more.

One team does less with more, and one does more with less.

Virtue signaling is a funny idea. The only thing I like about A&M is my friends and family that went there, but that's enough. The rest of my discussion focused only on the notion that I don't personally blame A&M for leaving the Big 12 because Texas does what Texas does, and I don't like it. You probably wouldn't either were the situation reversed.

The playoffs were determined a joke when a team who couldn't even win their conference won the National Championship. Now a 3-loss team possibly could. And BYU, who if they don't win the conference championship game, might not get an invite because they lost to the #4 team in the nation twice. Unreal.

If the goal is to win the national title, then your schedule should be one that prepares you for and lays a path to get you there.

I don't think a three loss team has any business in a 12 team playoff, especially ahead of other 10-2 and 11-1 P4 teams. But I do think Sark is right - Texas should have scheduled a patsy instead of OSU. And who cares if they do? I don't. He's right that a 10-2 Texas team probably makes the playoff, especially as well as they have been playing in November. But they aren't 10-2. So shut up, and try harder next year.

Conferences should break up into divisions. Division champions should play in the conference championship. The conference championships should be the first round of the playoffs. If you can't win your division, you can't play in the playoffs.

It takes all the beauty pageant out of it, and focuses on finding the best team.

The NFL does it this way. MLB. NBA. There isn't another major sport that relies on arbitrary rankings to decide who makes the playoffs.

If the SEC is as good as the SEC says it is, it doesn't need to schedule top 10 teams out of conference. Play ball.

Yea then you turn around and lose to UF, then get rolled by UGA. Then had to have OT to beat Miss State and Kentucky. THEN almost let Vandy beat you as time expired after they scored 21 in the 4th after being down by 24 at then end of the 3rd.

This is why you are not in the playoffs. Pretty simple.
