Let me vent my frustration on this morning's nine holes (but just 1!).

Play the first 8 to 3 over...dang good for me. Nothing worse than bogey. Par 4 ninth, duck hook drive deep into the woods. I can slice a drive as far right as anyone, but never never hook. Play provisional. Hit next into green side bunker, take 2 hacks to get out. 3 putt for 9. F Golf.

So inexplicable because I honestly wasn't that p.o.'d after the drive. Calmly, was really going through normal routine and trying to make good shots and get out with a reasonable score...wasn't to be.

I can't initiate the backswing. It's paralyzing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm swininging within 5 seconds of set up but I ain't ready to.

I have been fighting the hook with the driver for the last couple years. It's been a guarantee that I will hook it off the tee. Two weeks ago it all changed and the only thing I can do is slice the ball. I try hooking it and can't do it. I have had no lessons nor have actively tried to change my swing. The hooks are just gone and I am totally flabbergasted how. I have no idea what I'm doing. That probably why I'll shoot 90 tomorrow as a 5 index. I'll check back in.

Just found out I have a hernia in my upper abdomen from where they cut me open for a surgery 2 years ago. Going to have to have that repaired and will shut it down in December. Best time for it since winter isn't the best here in MD, but still sucks.

Today was opening day for our course up here in beautiful Castle Pines, Colorado! I happen to secure the first tee time on opening day. The course has a photographer and a drone out filming the opening day, oh yeah this is going to be good. We toss a tee, and boom I am leading off the group. I set up to hit my drive, feeling GREAT from the work I did on the range, I line up, get my tempo in my head, swing back...

BAM! Ground ball out to third base just barely past the ladies tee box.

Women played today-any results?

Walked Memorial Park yesterday….absolutely beautiful day. I'm between an 11-12 handicap and I have never shot a round in the 70s. I was 1 over through 6 and ended up shooting a 39 on the front (6 pars & 3 bogeys) for my lowest ever 9 out there. Doubled 10, bogeyed 11, 12, & 13. Tripled 18 for an 85.

Played in a tournament last week for the first time in forever.

I had been a range warrior over the last few months. Grip change, swing change, new driver…. It was all coming together. I was swinging with more confidence than I had in years.

Proceeded to play the worst 18 holes of my life. Somewhere between completely embarrassing and "maybe golf just isn't my thing".

I believe lessons are in my future.

Just finished a round... shot 40 on the front. My best 9 by 3 strokes. Shot 52 on the back. F GOLF!!!

Shot 38 on the front 9 yesterday (by far my best 9 ever) on the Tribute, including hooking my 2nd shot on hole 9 right into the stone wall. Couldn't find the ball, but noticed a ball about 50 yards away about 15 yards in front of the green, turns out my ball bounced that far off the wall. I love golf the front 9.

Proceeded to shoot a 46 on the back.

I've been on the struggle bus for years now. Tee shot issues. Crappy irons, crappy wedges, and inconsistent short game. Lots of horrible starts to rally to shoot 83-87 (and worse). I'm talking 48-36 type of stuff.

Recently, I thought I was on to some good stuff and seeing some results. Had a few front 9s in the 30s in a row leading to a few rounds in the 70s. Progress! It culminated in a -2 69 2 weeks ago, and I followed that up with a 78, good. There were cracks though, because I had to rally for the 78 as I was 8 over thru 5…

Friday I got my ass completely kicked on a 6700 yard old school course (Panorama) and shot +12, 84 (43-41). Really, I kicked my own ass hitting 5 tee balls out of play, duffed a couple of wedges, didn't make a putt outside of 5'.

So… F ME! And more importantly, F GOLF!

Asked to play at a nice private club by a vendor last Friday. I knew it would be hot, and I've played this course before. If you got a little offline it will punish you with lots of lost balls.

I figured if I stayed below 100 I'd be happy.

The best was the hole where I hit my approach into a bunker. The sand was packed down crazy hard. After 4 strokes that landed on the edge of the green and rolled back down to my feet, I picked up and took a +5 on the hole. Could not get a feel for the greens at all which were crazy slow so I 3 putted six times! Even one of my co-workers (who shot a 78) agreed the bunkers were trash. He took 3 strokes to get out of another one. When I had good shots bad things seemed to follow. Pretty sure I'd have been 25+ over on the course I normally play that day.

Also, EFF YOU Swing U app....every time play at least 2 times per nine the App give me distances that are 1/2 to 1 club off. Nothing like striking the ball well only to see it fly over the pin 10+ yards into that hard packed bunker!!!! Used to be pretty reliable but not anymore.

Played league last night. 9 hole league with it's own handicapping. I am sitting at a 5 right now. I was paired up against a 14 so he got a stroke every hole. I proceeded to shoot 39 with 3 birdies (and a triple). My opponents scores so far this season: 50, 54, 52, 62. Guy shot 41, net 27, and beat me by 8 strokes.

I guess that's better than just getting popped to death all night and losing by one.

Sounds like Spark golf. I gave up on them partially for that very thing.

Had the best round of my life yesterday, but started with the biggest F golf I've ever experienced.

On the first tee, I hit my tee ball. It's pretty good, so I turn around to start walking to my two buddies chatting on the tee box. As I approach them, the guy with his back to me decides to take a one handed practice swing, and absolutely clocks me in the mouth with the driver head.

It rips my lip open, and bleeds for a few holes. Apparently took my mind off of thinking too much though. We played red white and blue tees for our skins game on the holiday, and I hit 7 birds for a 68.

Sounds like Spark to me too. The handicap system changes throughout the season though. And only your best 10 finishes count. So it tends to even out if you play enough.

Went on a golf weekend trip for the 4th of July and played 6 rounds in 4 days. Twice scored 42 on the front nine and then blew up on the same first four holes of the back nine. Finished with an 89 and a 92.

First hole of the par-3 course, first swing slice into the drink. Second swing, pull it out of bounds. Put up a snowman on the first hole. 2nd hole is 104 yds par-3. The app suggests a PW so I take mine out. Hit it straight onto the green. Proceed to 3-putt but I hit it onto the green from the tee for the first time!!

Btw, my 5-iron is a dirty whooore who has syphilis.
