A little late but Veerman is off to a hot start on the DP with a win, and is currently the highest ranked Aggie (OWGR)

Dan Erickson secured his 2025 DP card by finishing top20 at Qschool last Fall

Palmer and Champ both lost their PGAT cards, but Palmer is using a money exemption this season

Bennett, Burgoon, Champ will be fighting for their cards on the KF this season

Finished his morning flight round -2 and currently sitting top 20, but still a bunch of golfers out on the course.

Ryan Palmer had a good day at -4 to get him safely inside the cut line at -5 overall. He'll probably drop drop back to around 30th with the afternoon flight still on the course.

Chandler had a good front 9 going until he double bogied 8. Currently even on the day and flirting with the projected -2 cut line. Needs a couple birdies on the back 9 coming in.

Palmer cratered. DAL of those that made the cut at 77th for +10

Cam finished the 2nd round in the lead at -12. Hope he doesn't Aggie it up and crap the bed over the weekend.

Usually when Cam is on he's on and finishes strong.

First ever bogey free opening 2 rounds for him.

Interesting post-round interview with him talking about his personal struggles and how that affects his game. He said lately things are good off the course and he has been working with somebody so that has translated into him getting out of his own way.

Champ, a three-time TOUR winner, has fallen on hard times in recent years. He lost his TOUR card officially last year and wasn't supposed to be in the field in Canada. Eighth alternate at the start of last weekend, Champ was instead prepping for the Korn Ferry Tour event in South Carolina, where he's played for the majority of the season.

For some reason, he decided to bring his passport to South Carolina, not even thinking that he might need it if he made his way into the RBC Canadian Open field.

"I definitely didn't think I was getting in, especially at eight (alternate)," Champ said. "I know the deadline, some guys will withdraw over the weekend, something like that, but eight, I was like, yeah, probably not getting in. Luckily, I actually brought my passport. I don't know why I brought it. I was like, you know, I'm just going to bring it in case for whatever reason, not even thinking about the tournament. So it all worked out nicely."

Keep it up Champ. Get that card back with a win.

What are the odds that if a Canadian wins the tournament that Adam Hadwin gets tackled again?

Champ is carrying an Aggie score pad in his back pocket. Cool to see.

Based on this, I don't think so.

Quote:

Six spots are still open for players to get into the field through two remaining exempt categories: top 60 off the World Ranking after the RBC Canadian Open and/or the winner in Canada if that player has won previously on the PGA Tour since last year's U.S. Open.

Seems to be playing a little tight today out of the gate. Hopefully the nerves settle a bit.

He just hit a 400 yd drive, 89 yds from the pin and his wedge approach was nowhere near the pin. That seems to be his round today. He does seem tight.

Commentators said it really was a 400 yd drive!

Pretty much his career right there. He missed the green on the short par 3 and just bombed another drive and left his wedge approach 30' from the hole. Makes you wonder what he practices since this has been a problem for so long.

If he could win, he would qualify for the U.S. Open. Of course, that would open up bigger possibilities.

Only player over par in top ~38. One of two over par in top ~55. Definitely a little uptight today.
